Progress- I ordered my 53 AMG SUV the first part of June 2020. I finally have a VIN and the salesmen spoke with MB and the car is finished except for software upgrades and should be released for shipment by the end of this month. I should get it in June. All the goodies except the $5K suspension option, metallic black, black/red leather and carbon fiber interior. I like "Bling!!". I like the ride of the 20" wheels and will look for after market black matte wheels as in the 22" black wheels. One year to get delivery of a new MBX. My how times have changed!
You are going to love it...Congratulations! This is very strange on your timeline. You ordered over a month earlier and I took delivery of my loaded 53 in late December. Post a picture of your seats...mine weren’t very well done and orange not red.

As far as aftermarket wheels, check out if BC Forged has any designs you like. I've got an order for some of their KL 12's for my soon to be delivered GE 450. They are reasonably priced (for custom aftermarket wheels) and you can get them in any color/finish you can imagine.

Hi I have my first mercedes on order ('21 gle53) and my dealer showed me a screenshot of the build. It show the following on 4/17/21:
status b3-x10 prodDecade planned 21/4-3
estimated prod. Date 5/21/21
does anyone know what this means? Should the car be built in less than a month?

Wow you scare me. I just ordered a 53 couple days ago. My order shows Prod date is 08/3D/2021. Hope it doesn't drag out to be 10 months...

That sucks... I don't know if I want to wait that long. What option did you get? And what was the original prod date for you when you placed the order? My dealer said there might be a delay with black/red nappa leather option I chose.

I ordered red and black leather with carbon fiber. Ordered first week of June 2020 and didn't get a build date until Jan and that was for a March build date and that got delayed to April date. It is on the train to Tucson- finally!!

That seems odd. I was at the dealer when they placed an order for me. On my order paper, it has a prod date right away. Maybe you or someone else here can explain their process for comparison?
Finally pickin' 'er up in the morning. Interior sure looks red to me. Only took 11 Months. Maybe I need to order my next AMG now and I might get it in 2023!! Nice touch with the tail pipes even if they are not real. They will stay clean.

There hasn’t been much time after ordering before they lock...better order what you want ASAP. Adaptive is worth it, IMO.

My car will be 98% city driving as I ama very active Realtor and business is booming. For that reason I didn't get the exhaust or suspension option. After owning a Ferrari 430 Spider, any exhaust would be "ho hum" to me. If you want if, just get it. Life is too short!!

ARC is more than worth it - it makes the car. It finally erases that tippy feeling that even E-ABC can't conquer.
Plus, smoother ride on most surfaces, for those realtor types out there.....

I have only had the car two days and no highway or freeway driving yet. Just in town driving and I am coming from a 2018 43AMG. The ride couldn't be any smoother and it is amazing how quiet the car is when driving. I got the acoustic package and that is really worth it. I also have the 20 in wheels which I think also helps the ride. I just ordered new wheels that look just like the $4,000 option with MB in the 22" wheels. They are flat black (my car is metallic black) and they are Drag Wheels and $1,000 installed at Discount Tires. I should have them next week. For a difference in three model years, it is amazing in the difference in the two cars. "Hey Mercedes" works like a charm whether it is my voice or my wife's voice. The technology is amazing. My week end car is a Bentley Speed convertible and when it is in the comfort setting, the ride is hard to beat. The 53AMG is right up there with the ride comfort and quality. First real road trip is in July from Tucson to Telluride CO. That's all for now.

Technically im in the wrong forum, but im curious to see what everyones timeline is. I have a ‘21 glc 63 on order that i placed in late November with a scheduled build date of April decade-1. My car is still in Germany and production did start on April 1st. Not sure what the wait is but it sucks! Im hoping for a June delivery but wouldnt surprise me if it gets pushed back to July. Might cancel and get a ‘22 63 S at that point? Lol

I’m just shy of three months since my order was accepted. I haven’t received any updates from the dealer and haven’t asked for one. Guessing I’m only about halfway there...
Had a order put in on Feb 28 of this year and just got the Vin today and states it has been produced 5/17/2021. I was told it wasn't going to be produced until the 2nd Decade of May but when I look at the status code I get a D3 Which says it's a POTENTIAL DELAY. Not sure if this is in reference to any chip shortage but was still told it would most likely be here by the end of the month. Here's to hoping it continues without any major delay.
