Replacement wipers

Does anyone know where to buy replacement windshield wipers? I believe MB ones are on global backorder which I feel is a safety issue. I can’t find a single manufacturer that makes replacement wipers that fit the Mercedes mounting bracket.

My car came with ones in which the rubber is super sticky and makes a loud on the windshield. (Fingernails on chalk board) No amount or rubbing alcohol, windex or WD40 has been able to renew them. Car is 5 months old.

thank you everyone

Try calling dealers in other parts of the country, far from your location.

mercedesbenzstarparts and fcpeuro don’t have catalogs yet for the 2020 GLE.

The dealer selling price for a set of wiper blades is $68. Since both the A- and the B-service provide for blade replacement, I wonder if they are reducing the service pricing to reflect the parts not being available?

I posted a thread on this 6 months ago.

My wipers were skipping, streaking, and squeaking. Only the dealer can replace them due to the design and they actually did it under warranty due to the streaking issue that was demonstrable by using washer fluid spray.

Seems all parts for this vehicle are on global back order.
Don’t see other manufacturers in this ridiculous situation.

Didn't know there aren't any 3rd party wiper blades made for the GLE. I was having the chatter problem since day one, it went away after I applied
GYEON Quartz Q² View GYEON Quartz Q² View
to windshield and wipers.
I did that last November, and it is wearing off now so it lasted roughly 9 months (manufactures says "up to 12 months"). Considering the driving conditions, wiper use, and washes I am very pleased with the product.
Ordering another one now. One kit was enough to do windshield (double-coated), passenger and driver windows, and rear window.

Here's the pic of the wiper arm mount
The blades measure 26" on drivers side and 22" on passenger side.

I did find this video from PIAA with our mount type but waiting until Bosch confirms their ICON blades will work with the MB mount type.

Bosch do make aero twin blades this size already, the fitting is called top lock M.
The E class 2016 onwards has a 22" on the passenger side top lock M fitting
The Sprinter van 2018 onwards has a 26" on the drivers side top lock M fitting
Until they put a 22" and a 26" in the same box for a V167 the only option is to buy 2 sets as they don't seem to sell singles.
Another option is to fit the E class set 22" and 24'', you lose 1" either end on the drivers side(UK right hand drive), I don't know if you would even notice.
In the US is the 22" on the drivers side ?

Not in the USA. 2016 E-class is a PTB connector. The W213, which started in 2016 in ROW, is a different story.

The C Class in UK 2014 has 22" top lock M both sides. I thought they would use the same fitting world wide. Every day is a school day.
E Class prior to 2016 was push button but 2016 onwards W213 is top lock M In UK anyway according to https://www.wiperblades.co.uk

Are we able to remove the Mercedes TopLock adapter and use aftermarket ones? This is a video ( I believe EU) but if this works would any Bosch Icon Blades fit like the 26OE?

Starting at 3 min into the video, it appears he takes off the stock adapter to make aftermarket blades work with their own adapter.

According to the US Bosch website, they don't currently have any 2020+ products

This is a very timely and informative thread as I am at my wits end with the wiper chatter on my GLE450. Thanks to all the information shared so far, I have ordered Bosch Aerotwin wipers to replace my OEM wipers. As has been noted above, neither Bosch, nor any other manufacturer offer a direct replacement for the 26" and 22" wipers found on the 2020 GLE. So, what I ended up doing is buying a set of Aerotwins for a 2019-2020 Sprinter (A616S from Ebay via a UK reseller) for the driver's side, and a set of Aerotwins (3397009843 from Amazon) for the passenger side.

After hours of searching, I do not see where Bosch packages the Aerotwins in a 26" & 22" package for the Mercedes "top lock M" attachment, so buying four wiper blades was my only solution. I will end up with an extra 22" and 24" wiper that I can use in a pinch later. I'm hoping this will get me to where Bosch can make the proper wiper set available in the future.

I really wanted to get a set of Bosch Aerotwins as I had the same wiper chatter problem with my 2017 GLC300 and the Aerotwins were so much better than the OEM wipers from a noise/chatter perspective.

It will take 3-4 weeks for the wipers to arrive from the UK, so I cannot attest first hand to the fit and effectiveness of my "solution", but will report back once I have everything installed and put to a proper test.

Thanks to all for sharing your information and experiences. I find this forum extremely helpful.

I don't have any chatter yet on my GLE wipers but as a work around I always had good luck wiping the windshield with a wet terry cloth and Bon Ami can't scratch powdered cleaner then washing off well with a hose. Then final cleaning with windex no ammonia using micro fibre towels.

I just bought a new pair of wipers from the dealer. I was told they are being redesigned but in the meantime figured I'd try another pair - reportedly just went back in stock after a long, national backorder. After $75 the new pair does the exact same thing (lesser degree) when I got the windshield wet with a hose. I'm going to try the windshield silicone sealant that was suggested...

Not sure about a global shortage, but interestingly our dealership called us last week to say that the wiper replacements we were supposed to get with our first service are now available - we should come back for the install. Never realized they hadn't replaced. And fortunately, at 10k-ish miles we've still had no chatter issue. Been very happy with this vehicle.

Bought my 2020 E450 4MATIC Sedan on May 4, 2020. Since taking delivery, my windshield wipers "chatter" and "skip" continually. The dealer had a special wax applied and buffed out - no improvement. The dealer replaced my wiper blades 4 times - no improvement. I contact MBUSA and reported the issue. Got a call back from the supervisor telling me that, after investigating my issue, the wipers are performing as intended. So I have no options left except to live with the chattering and skipping until I buy another car or I have an accident because my windshield was not cleared of water during heavy rains. I live in South Florida, and we get heavy rains daily. What a shame - this is my 18th Mercedes in 33 years, and the first one that I can honestly say I hate because of this issue. I've applied RainX, no help. I am all out of options.

Try a windshield cleaning with Bon Ami “can’t scratch”. Even GM packaged that stuff for dealers years ago.My GLE and E sedan have no wiper issues and wipe clean. Both have occasional Bon Ami windshield cleaning.

I tried the “
GYEON Quartz Q² View GYEON Quartz Q² View
“ that was suggested above for $40. They recommend using at least 2 coats. I applied 4-5 and it did nothing. Still chatter. I’d honestly ask for a new windshield. When I run my hand on it the top part feels convex and not smooth. My 2018 Q7 feels smooth.

I made a thread on this last year: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...lacements.html

Very disappointing that this is a problem on a luxury car and persists this long after launch. My 2020 GLC doesn’t have any issues like this.

I have the same issue with wiper skipping. I tried Quartz Q2 view, rainx, and other coating. They all seems to work for a short period of time, and then back to "skipping".
My next step is to try some window cleaning clay, then polish and seal it.

I typically use Aquapel on my windows, but the wipers skipped when I applied it to my GLE450. I decided to polish it off using Carpro CeriGlass and applied Optimum Opti-Glass coating. The wipers skipped with that coating too. Next, I applied Griot's Garage Glass Sealant over top of the Opti-Glass. I bet you already know the outcome. Yes, they still skipped.

Next, I removed the wipers and cleaned them with Meguairs Hot Rims and Tire cleaner using a melamine sponge. That took a lot of crud off and the wipers felt and looked brand new! Put them back on and the chatter was worse! Finally, I applied 303 Rubber Seal and Conditioner on each wiper twice. Guess what? The wipers worked perfectly! For about 10 minutes and then they started to skip again... :-(

I will say that I may reapply the 303 Conditioner again as it did seem to make the wipers more pliable and gave me the best result. Not perfect, but it's good enough to get me through until my replacement wipers (Bosch Icon's-Post #15 above) arrive in September.

Did you do the wipers also? I forgot to mention that right after application, there was some chatter. It was gone in a few days and hasn't come back since.
