I have been driving a 2021 GLE 350 for 5 days while mine is in the shop waiting for a piece of weatherstripping and a fender trim piece. The car has about 600 miles so it’s not broken in yet. It has adequate power and is surprisingly zippy at lower speeds. It doesn’t have the passing acceleration of the 450 and fuel economy is about the same as my 450…actually not as good but that should improve after more miles. I would buy a 450 for the EQ Boost feature and the power-it’s just a more refined power train…but there’s nothing wrong with the 350. Actually there are a lot of happy GLE 350 owners on this Forum.

My wife wants an SUV and the GLE is the right size. That said, before going for one, we will drive the new Genesis GV80, which should be out anytime now. Not thrilled with the vertical screen on the dash, but to me, the rest of the interior is a home run!
I really like the new Genesis products but the biggest deter from the brand was that Hyundai will not open separate dealers for them. I have great service with my MB dealer and have been very happy with them, but have heard horror stories of the local two Hyundai dealers as well as the Genesis loaner situation. I think the brand has promise, however if Hyundai really wants people to take Genesis seriously and not consider them rebadged Hyundai's, they need to take a page from Toyota who was smart enough to open separate dealers for Lexus in order to help make a name for themselves.

The power delivery of the four is impressive.
IMO it's more than sufficient to move the GLE around town easily, and passing maneuvers up to 90mph. At 80mph or so, the 450 has noticeably more reserve.
Surprisingly, both the 450 and 350 get about the same mileage, with the 450 getting a slight nod. 23/30 or so.

The four-cylinder surprised me when I received a GLE350 loaner a year ago. The response was pretty good and I didn't find it was lacking in power for what most people in this segment are mainly looking for/how they drive. That being said, I also didn't load the car up with five passengers and luggage. In the end the wife and I still got a GLE 450 as we love Inline-6's (25+ years of BMW's) as well as just how damn smooth the EQ Boost system works after being spoiled with the CLS.

We own a 2018 GLS450 and one time during service I got a well-built GLE350. I thought the interior was great, the specs were awesome but after driving the behemoth for a few years I found the 350 to be a little slow on the engine so we opted for a 450 instead. Less weight than a GLS and the same output? Sign me up!

Are you talking about the W166 GLE350? That V6 engine was not really adequate for the car - IMO the four banger moves the new V167 with more authority than the old V6.

I know that use to be the case in my area, but Hyundai dealers here can no longer sell Genesis products. The closest Genesis dealership to me is located in York, PA, about an hour drive from my house.

That's strange. I know that Hyundai dealers can opt-out if they don't want to sell them as only two of the three Hyundai dealers in my area actually sell Genesis'. I still think they'd really benefit from following Lexus' lead with actual luxury dealers. They finally have their brand out there a bit ever since the Tiger crash and releasing two SUV's, all they need is the luxury feeling of a nice dealership.

To me the Genesis is a nice car but more like Lexus…not comparable to a reasonably optioned Mercedes. It’s a Luxury car entry level competitor but not in the same league as Mercedes in so many ways.

The Genesis is an over priced Hyundai, a Lexus is an over priced Toyota and an Infinity is an over priced Nissan. But a Mercedes is a Mercedes.

Except when said Mercedes is also an overpriced Nissan.

Yes, Nissans are popping up in Mercedes showrooms everywhere.
