Beige vs Black Interior

I am getting ready to order a new 2021 GLE63s and the last option I need to decide on is either to go with the beige or black interior.

On such an expensive and luxuries SUV, beige seems to me the way to go. Black seems to be to be just too typical, it seems like every other cheap Honda or Toyota has a black interior. Beige just seems so much more luxuries to me.

But what I am trying to understand is that why most of the cars on the lot at Mercedes have a black interior, as well as my sales rep highly recommends going with a black interior and that most of his customers choose that as well.

What am I missing? Why do most people prefer a black interior on these SUVs and not something more luxuries and special like a beige interior?

It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. If Macchiato is luxurious to you then get that color. Personally I prefer the Tartufo/Black and Red/Black even if they aren’t the Exclusive leather.

I only "chose" black because it is what they had in terms of other options that I wanted (units with driver assist / leather instead of tex / trailer hitch were not easy to find over the summer - even 350s were limited in terms of selection...) I agree, it's a bit dull - but I would have definitely preferred the beige if I had the chance - and preferably with the black headliner because the beige and gray headliners are impossible to keep clean. (The headliner on mine is gray, I think it needs to be an AMG line to get the black headliner with the other interior colors - no issues yet, but I expect a ketchup explosion at some point...) You see a lot of units with the dark interior, I think, because it's easier to care for with kids and pets. If you are ordering, then I would get exactly what you want...salesman's opinion is informative, but only their opinion.

I ended up with a black interior like a previous poster, it was what they had available with the other options I wanted. I was really apprehensive about how hot the car would be in the summer and have to say it wasn't bad. Whatever MB is doing with the glass seems to really work well. My previous car was a 2016 Buick Enclave with a tan interior and it was actually hotter inside after an afternoon in the parking lot than this GLE with a black interior.

For me it was maintenance. No cleaning needed on the black interior. I saw some thread on this forum that sometime jeans color will stain the beige seats and then the stain is hard to take off.

I haven't owned jeans in, well, about 30 years Didn't like them then either, but was merely a lad.

I like "Bling" so on my 53AMG I am getting the black and red. I saw it in person and really like it but that's just me. It's too flashy for many people.

My wife liked the Tartufo/Black the best but I ordered the Red/Black. I might change the arm rest piece to black...will see how it looks but seems out of place on the doors.
Personally I don’t care for the Macchiato against all the black. Complementary colors suit my taste and the Red screams sporty. We all have different taste.
