Cracks in MB Tex leather at 9,0xx miles!?!

Just noticed these cracks....
My wifes GLE has less than 10k miles...
We have had leather and MB Tex leather in several Mercs and not had any issues...
Thoughts? What should we do/expect from a warranty perspective on this leased 2020 GLE?

I hate to say it, but especially in the second picture it looks like something scraped the MB Tex.

Yup, looks like it's ripped it or something. Kind of a straight line. Sorry OP, no warranty for you.

Hate to say it but you are looking at the least detailed picture....

All the cracks are on different “lines” of the perforation grid and not connected.

I’ll be sure to pass your final determination to the dealer.

Please do that, also didn't you post once about trying to cheap out on an oil change? You didn't like anyones response then either. I think you're just looking for a free ride. Sorry.

2020 GLE
Bring it to the dealership and ask them. No one is going to know what their response will be. They replaced my entire interior when mine was delivered with a ton of wrinkles in the leather.

This place is a joke.
Who cares, it's just a rental.

The close up shows the cracks weren’t caused by a scratch/scrape, the MBTex is defective. Take it to the dealer, the bottom seat cover should be replaced under warranty. Not big deal...it happens.

Exactly. We're talking about MBtex in a mid level suv that's on a lease.

Will be interested in what the dealer says - OP, please keep us up to date. I had an issue with the cover peeling on the hand-rest in the center console. Dealer replaced with no issue, which I was very happy with - I expected some push back.

Best of luck in your discussion with your dealer.

Does corpulence have anything to do with this issue? Just wondering.

Im not loosing sleep over it, but also would rather flag it early (miles) then be hit with a excessive wear and tear charge at the end of the lease.

Sorry to disturb the resident troll...
yea, it had 5,000 miles and I was more bothered by the waste of oil from an environmental standpoint and my time to either DIY (the GLE is at the bottom of the list in terms of pleasure/satisfaction of spending time diy) or go to a shop (my time is worth considerably more than what a dealer charges for an oil service).

Just about any new vehicle is going to require an oil change at 10k/one year. Perhaps in an effort to not waste oil an EV or even a bicycle would be more appropriate. This way you won't need to spend your valuable time at the dealer since you must be pretty important, of course no one else on this forum's time is worth as much as yours. If you can't afford the upkeep or can't be bothered with servicing your vehicle properly then maybe you shouldn't own a Benz.

Same in our case, my wife drives the car 99% of the time and she is 125 lbs. Also it is primarily worn with scrubs, nothing aggressive clothing-wise. No reason it should be doing this.
