Yeah the picture issue only seems to affect certain builds. The picture gets rendered by the online configurator and for some builds the configurator was throwing a 500 error instead of returning an image. This causes the portal and the phone app to fall back to generic pictures of veiled cars. The new phone app has recently started to finally show my actual car, and the portal as well, but then the portal reverted back to the generic picture again, and now it shows my car again. Others have always seen a picture of their car. Hoping it sticks this time. Bringing up the developer tools in Chrome reveals that the web portal throws all kinds of errors.

Ok, figured out what's going on. It works with Firefox, but not Chrome or New Edge. Was looking at the errors and one error is due to the way Chromium handles certain requests, so I figured those who are saying that it works for them must be using a different browser. It's downloading the maps now.

Had a hunch that it probably would, but I didn't wanna bother with firing up my MacBook. I've noticed before that they seem to primarily test on FireFox on their end. I've been advised in the past to use FireFox, but I'm generally not a FireFox user. They need to make this stuff work with all the current evergreen browsers.

My Chrome is always up to date. That's the point of an evergreen browser. It keeps itself updated. Most of these updates are security fixes for known vulnerabilities. I did do a manual update for the most recent update as it fixes a zero day that has been exploited in the wild, but generally Chrome is quick to update itself when an update comes out, provided that you regularly close it as it needs a restart for a new update to take effect.
