Driver Door Lock

So when I’m getting out and the door is open, I press the door lock button by the inside handle. All the doors lock except the drivers door. Annoying since then I have to close the door and then touch the handle for all 4 doors to be locked. Am I missing something regarding the inside door lock button?

Not sure if I’m following you correctly. You want to close the car (before leaving the car parked) by using the inside lock button (on the door card), rather than the tiny square in the outer door handle. Correct?

Wouldn’t it be easier to step out, close the door and lock the car with the little square on the outer door handle?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I would say interior lock buttons have never been designed for the purposes you are looking for.

From the old days to prevent keys getting locked in car.

Agree, you obviously can't lock all the doors and then open the drivers door and expect it to lock after you close it!!!

Not possible, you cannot lock the car with the key inside unless you have disabled the key, try it.

In the good old days (90s in my case), that was a feature on my Honda to prevent you from locking the keys in the car. To over ride, you’d pull on the inner door handle and then press the lock button on the door card. Give it a try, may still work.

That's why I said from the old days. This was a feature back when you had a key in the ignition, to prevent locking the car with the key inside. Not sure why it is still this way?

For exactly the same reason, to prevent you locking the door with the key inside.
