Two-tone beep
Two-tone beep
Hi All,
Took the 2021 GLE 63S on an hour and a half highway ride today and several times during the drive up and later the drive back I hear a two-tone beep - wasn’t the phones, wasn’t a safety feature, no message on dash, seatbelts were on...I can’t figure out what it means. It wasn’t a tone that seemed like a warning. Anyone else hear this or know what it means? Thanks!

Was it a high-then-low pitch tone, sort of like "beep-boop" but really quick? See here.
it maybe set with a feature where the car notifies you that you are above the city post speed limit. My sales rep deactivated it for me because he told me that it drove all his customer nuts where is true because i always drive above speed limit.
I have it set so it only warn me visually (blinking speed limit sign). For whatever reason, the warning threshold adjustment is very low. You can only set it to warn you if you go 0 - 5 MPH over the limit but nothing higher. (I would set mine to 10 above if possible)

Thanks, All! I think you’ve solved the mystery! My husband is a bit of a lead foot so that makes perfect sense as he was testing out Sport+ now that we’re out of the break-in period!
Settings -> Assistance -> Traffic Sign Assist
And you have to scroll down to see the Warning Threshold (this is based on manual (but they didn't include the exact path so might be another level down)
Thank you, it was right where you said it is. When I received my new car, a Mercedes rep spent about a 1/2 hour going over features. Afterwards she gave me her card and said to contact her if I had any questions. After driving home, I had 2 questions, this speed alert one and how to change music tracks from the steering wheel (I eventually figured that one out). She didn't think either were possible. Thanks to the forum members for helping each other!
