So, I'm scheduled to take my GLE450 in for the driver side window noise and mentioned the charging pad issue. It's on the service schedule email I received so I'll update if they do anything that fixes it.

Congratulations on your skill in going through the manual in a solid hour. For many of us, especially me, it was a solid 2 1/2 weeks to go through the manual, and I still refer to it. Regarding the wireless charging, it works well in our GLE 350, except it’s slow. So I don’t really rely on it much. I also don’t care all that much for Apple Play, even though I have a wireless dongle which works very well. Over the year that we’ve had our vehicle, we think the NAV system in MBUX and other capabilities work just fine. Good luck with your new wheels. You’ve come to the right place for help and advice.

Hi All, Just picked up my dealer stock GLE 450 today (Selenite Gray, DG1 AMG Exterior, DP1, Premium package 1, Pano Roof, Heated Ventilated seats, Augmented video , Black MB Tex, metal weave trimand 21" rims) and while I was bummed that I couldn't find a GLE with the air suspension, I am still really happy with it after a day of putting it through its paces and a solid hour sitting parked on my block in NYC reading the manual. Ride is by far better than I had anticipated with the 21's and it just looks so damn good. I'm sure I'll find a reason to want the air suspension, but I needed the car now. I'll share my driving impressions soon. So here's one issue that I am not sure if it's a "me" thing or a universal issue. I understand the carplay wireless vs wired problem, but every time i put my Iphone 12+ pro max in the wireless charger, it shows that its charging for maybe 20 seconds, then it stops charging. Is anyone else experiencing this issue. Kind of annoying to have wireless charging that won't charge your phone. Overall, I am seriously happy and can't wait for an extended out of city day trip this weekend. The GLE 450 is pretty damn fun. Years ago I had my CLK430 worked over with Brabus upgrades, but I'm trying to temper that idea because this is also a family car. Anyone with this charging issue? Thanks.

I have got the same problem as you I am running a GLE 53 AMG, my phone says it is charging for about 15 seconds, then it cuts off with a message saying
“check obstruction between the phone and charger”. My car was manufactured in Feb 2021. Software version is currently APILEVEL/NTG6/081. Which is the latest version, I am going to mercedes dealers next week, will get back to you.

Yeah, I have exactly the same problem. Picked up my GLE350 on 4/10 and the charger works for 20 seconds and then nothing. It's annoying and I hope it can be fixed. They should have told me.

It could very well be that the coils do not align and the current is out of spec (too low) and this causes the problem. The person who says that removing the rubber pad works may only be getting the misaligned coils closer together and getting enough current draw to be within spec. Also moving the phone as another person said also suggests the coils need to be aligned properly. But this is just my guess.

I prefer to use the charging space for other things and a USB to charge, but I have the option.

Don't get me wrong. I still love the car, but I expect things like this to work. Earlier in this thread there was a report of a Pixel not working but then a Samsung Galaxy that does work. I'm betting that there was a bad batch of chargers installed.

The service department told me today that this is a known issue with certain phones. iPhone 12 Pro being one of them. He tells me that MB is working on a software update to correct this. His iPhone 8 worked just fine.

Update: The SA just gave me a call. They found out today that there is a new part number available for the wireless charger. He has one on the way and I'll post the part number here as soon as it arrives.

That’s good to hear - means they might have moved the coil or added extra coils to accommodate various phone models and positions in the cradle.

Hi, so I just had phase 1 of the whistling mirror fix and my dealer who is great didn't have any knowledge of the new charger part you mentioned but asked me to get the part number so he could order. I'm really hoping your guy comes through. Keep us posted, the rep tried his Iphone 11 and had teh same issue, but they had no issue when charging other phones. So weird.
