I've had my GLS63 AMG since April and the charger has been working without a problem with my iPhone 11 Pro, but my wife's 12 Pro doesn't charge. I just got my new 13 Pro and it doesn't work either, so I guess it's something with the newer phones. We have tried with/without protective case and replacing the phones in different positions but nothing has helped to make it work.
I took my GLE to the dealer to troubleshoot. No replacement control unit was needed. The latest software update fixed the wireless charging issue with iPhone 12 Pro Max. Hope my post saves your time.
I have a 2021 GLE450 and had no problems charging for the past 6 months with my iPhone 11. Just got the iPhone 13 and have the same problems discussed on this thread. Possibly the placement of the coil in the newer iPhone models?

I recently took delivery of my new GLE as well. Same issue. I took it to the dealer and they found a technical note (or whatever MB calls it) numbered LI82.70-P-073025 for iPhone 12 charging problems. It proposes a software update for the phone cradle (N123/8) but when the dealer tried to do the update they got a warning saying not to install it and that a remedy is being worked on. So, dealer advised me that they would keep an eye on this and have me come back in when MB resolves whatever the issue is with the update. Maybe call your dealer and see what they have to say. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to find out serial number of your wireless charger?
Must be that MB use several type of charger, some support Iphone, some not.
And just to replace wrong with right one.

Not sure these things have serial numbers, and IDK what the p/n. Is. Your dealer’s parts dept should be able to help.
Mine is very friendly and last time I was there I needed a p/n and they looked it up on the computer and gave it to me.

i mean, if your model of charger is ok; can you find out from your dealer that number (its some mercedes terminology number A1...). Just to speed up things.

No. Mine is not having an issue.
I suggest you go to your dealer and let them fix this under warranty.
Finally received sw update to fix charging issue but…
After 5 months of issues and repeated trips my dealer who at one point was going to give me a different charging pad but didn’t..finally updated my sw and now my iphone 12 pro max charges most of the time. I still get the error message that it won’t charge 20% of the time AND the charge really is weak. It holds the charge rather than really charging it up. Better to use a dongle from the charging port. 80k car 5 cent charger.
Hi All, Just picked up my dealer stock GLE 450 today (Selenite Gray, DG1 AMG Exterior, DP1, Premium package 1, Pano Roof, Heated Ventilated seats, Augmented video , Black MB Tex, metal weave trimand 21" rims) and while I was bummed that I couldn't find a GLE with the air suspension, I am still really happy with it after a day of putting it through its paces and a solid hour sitting parked on my block in NYC reading the manual. Ride is by far better than I had anticipated with the 21's and it just looks so damn good. I'm sure I'll find a reason to want the air suspension, but I needed the car now. I'll share my driving impressions soon. So here's one issue that I am not sure if it's a "me" thing or a universal issue. I understand the carplay wireless vs wired problem, but every time i put my Iphone 12+ pro max in the wireless charger, it shows that its charging for maybe 20 seconds, then it stops charging. Is anyone else experiencing this issue. Kind of annoying to have wireless charging that won't charge your phone. Overall, I am seriously happy and can't wait for an extended out of city day trip this weekend. The GLE 450 is pretty damn fun. Years ago I had my CLK430 worked over with Brabus upgrades, but I'm trying to temper that idea because this is also a family car. Anyone with this charging issue? Thanks.
I got a new 2021 GLE350, was lucky it was in stock with all the shortages. I had an iPhone 12 and had those issues I thought it was the phone since it was cracked just got an iPhone 13 and same issue. I’m not even gonna bother with it and just let it be I’m currently using the cable to charge my phone and using Bluetooth.
Took mine to dealer for wireless pad not charging my iPhone 13. Advisor has a IPhone 10 X his would charge on pad my 13 wouldn’t we figured out it must be the cameras behind the new iPhone that bulge out and don’t let iPhone lay flat to get charging. Or could be where they put the new charging coils on new phone compared to older iPhones. Everything is up to date with software on car and phone.
$80k car + $1500 phone=💩

There is an issue with the MagSafe chargers that came with the iPhone 12 and newer models. Your dealership should be able to fix it with a software update.

That's the most recent software for thr MBUX system, but different components have modules with their own software and you can't tell if they're up to date just by looking at the MBUX version, AFAIK. Look for this bulletin:
LI82.70-P-073025 AUG/21 – 223, 213, 238, 257, 206, 118,167, 177, 205, 247, 253, 290 with code 897 and/or 899 insufficient charging or no wireless charging with iPhone 12, perform software update of phone cradle for driver's side (N123/8) and if equipped, rear (N123/11).
