Collision Detected
So I'm sitting in my office and yesterday and I get an alert on my Mercedes app saying collision detected with a car diagram and no area selected that had any impact. As my car is parked in a garage, I kinda freak out and call and the manager and tell him what happenned and he tells me the car is in it's normal spot they keep it and absolutely nothing happened. My garage has good guys so I didn't feel the need to run there and later upon inspection there was not a thing I could find. I have noticed the proximity sensor can be kind of sensitive while driving at times, but has anyone had a bit of a shock like this one? I mean, what entails a collision to our GLE's or any Mercedes for that fact? A sensor reading or bump or actual hit hard enough to jolt the car? I did notice later that there was a fair amount of dust that accumulated on the car and likely the sensors. Finally, as the car had no collision but had the alert on my dash when I got in the car I dismissed it, but should I call Mercedes to make sure no collision was reported as I don't want someone to think it had been in an accident later down the line when I sell or trade on the Mercedes log or Carfax. Thanks

If you are concerned, you should have a dashcam installed to record any possible parking incidents. I've never had the Mercedes collision alert go off on me so I suspect that someone hit the car enough to set off the sensor but not enough to leave any visible damage.

I don't believe the collision is enabled in US market?
At least the tow away alert and the interior motion sensor option is not available in my car, so I would think the collision alert is also not active in US?

I just checked my app and I have options for both interior motion, tow-away & collision.

Mine has the warnings. When jacking up the fronts to remove my winter tires I set off a warning but not on the rears which is understandable. When loading or unloading my Side by Side OHV I have set off the Collision Sensor at least 3 times. On mine it seems to take a fairy abrupt jolt for it to go off. I’m with the theory that someone bumped into your car...I don’t think dirt would set it off or they would be going off all winter.

This is the new advanced alarm system that newer models are getting. It registers impacts to the car when it is parked and locked and alerts as OP has experienced. I think it has shock sensors throughout the car that register impact. Could have been somebody bumping into it or a semi-truck going by outside causing a minor earthquake :-). It's a standard option on US-spec cars now. I think they upgraded the alarm system sometime in 2020, but not all models might be on the same track. Nothing gets reported anywhere. This is simply to alert the owner. MBs have other collision detection when you are actually driving the car and get into an accident and the airbags deploy. It will automatically call emergency services if it detects an accident.

[QUOTE=another_geek;8310628]Did you check in the Vehicle Alarm section of the app?
[/QUOTE
Yes, and while it registered a collision I got this image with no area highlighted as well as an in dash alert on whether I wanted to call MB.

I also received the alert on my Mercedes app saying collision detected. The car was parked in the driveway when it happened. My husband was washing the car at the time, so I just assumed it was from that. He has washed the car many times before without that alert, so I'm not sure what caused it. I also dismissed the notification when I got in to drive the car.

Just want to update everyone. I asked MBUSA about the collision/motion detection and here is their response.
And I am sure that when I ordered my car (ordered March 2019, delivery on November), there is not such an option. So most likely it is not available in the US for the 2020 model.
As for tow away alarm and stand by mode your vehicle does not have these features for the U.S. market. The vehicle was not ordered with the Advanced Alarm System and Parking Damage Detection package for the interior motion.
