Is there a way to access text messages from steering wheel or mbux the only way?

Ya, at least on my 53. Engine on, on right side of the steering wheel hit home button, use little mouse on steering wheel and go to phone and click. At the bottom of screen, you should see what looks like a cloud. Click that and my text messages showed up. I hope this helps.

i interesting, I haven’t tried that... however it is a lot of steps. I have an iPhone and Apple CarPlay, so when I want to check my text messages I simply say, “ hey Siri read me my text messages”. Don’t know if you have an iPhone or an Android phone, but I would assume saying “ hey Alexa read me my text messages?” would work. Have you tried it? Cheers.

 

I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking to accomplish, but the quickest way that I access my text messages is by swiping down with two fingers on the trackpad.

on the main screen when a text arrives you see a text bubble symbol with a yellow highlight in the upper right corner of the screen. all you have to do is touch that and it takes you right to the text. even works sometimes with facebook messenger.

 

yes I was trying to find another way to access them other than from the screen.

 

You can also just say "hey mercedes, play messages" and it will read your text messages to you. I just tried this on my car with my iphone.
