There will not be flaps - I highly doubt it anyway.

I would imagine that when MB references "functional exhaust", they mean exhaust with flap. Regardless, flap or no flap, I hope they at least have an exhaust on each side! As you stated earlier, no need for sport sounds on a non AMG model. The exhaust on each side is more of an OCD thing for me

It seems like a lot of added complexity to split a straight six exhaust system into two sides. Especially with the catalytic converter mounted so close to the block, ahead of the exhaust system.

I always thought the exhaust scavenging on a 6 cylinder was improved with a three into one collector, meaning that dual exhausts decreased power.

There must be magic in either way.
