Question 2021 GLE with 360 deg camera and no warning sound when obstacle is directly in front

Hi! I have 2021 GLE and have a strange problem, I don't believe this is normal behavior. It does not sense any obstacles directly in front when parking, but shows 360 view just fine, and paints segments in orange/red when I approach an obstacle. However when there is small pole or chain on the level of front bumper, it completely ignores it. All other areas are adequately monitored (sometimes more than adequately, when entering garage through narrow door it screams about proximity of the entrance frame to the front fender and the doors). But when it approaches front wall there is silence. Is it normal? Car has enough sensors, though more in the back - I counted 6 in the back and 4 in front. On 2012 Audi Q5 which MB replaced sensors work just as they should - when you approach even small obstacle car beeps and draws proximity of obstacles on the screen, you can rely on that sound and ignore the picture (which is quite useless if sound alarm works fine).

My mistake - 6 ultrasound sensors in front, same as in the back.

My Q7 never alerted to small poles or chains up front. I don't think my GLE does either.

My GLE 450 doesn't have distronic , but the sensors are really almost hyper sensitive. I thought the standard just stops you from ramming into a car or object, but the system has scared me a few time backing up and it automatically hit the brakes when there was a really low curb. Not sure about the front sensors.

It is not about poles or chains, it is about no warning sound for the obstacle in front while having sound for the same obstacle in the rear. Poles or chains come to emphasize danger of not having warning sounds for small objects in front - kills the idea of having sensors.

I asked my son to approach the car from the rear - perfect sound and visual indication. Then from the front - visual but no sound. Same obstacle, different behavior. Why having 6 sensors in front then?

I have noticed the same issue hypersensitve in the garage but doesn't beep when there are obvious obstacles such as the entrance gate to my daughter's community.

There's an option for "Warn Early All Around" in the parking settings, is that enabled?

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert is going to be more sensitive since its monitoring the blind spots/cross traffic/pedestrians when backing up. My assumption is that the front has a different purpose and function. You can see what’s in front so it might be that the front system is designed for collision avoidance. Making the front super sensitive might make it so intrusive that we wouldn’t like it, while providing little benefit.

Yes, I enabled the "Warn Early All Around" day one. I rather get too many warnings than non at all.

I enabled mine a couple months ago but I checked it this morning and it was off. Who knows.
