Radio Volume

On my 2020 GLE everytime I start the car the radio volume is quite loud. (I had this same problem on my 2013ML 350). Checking with the maintenance department of my dealer if there is any way to change the default volume on startup all I have gotten is shrugged shoulders and "I don't know". I wonder if this is a software challenge. If so perhaps the software could be changed to use the same volume on engine shutdown for engine startup.

Not that it's that loud, my GLC does that same thing. It doesn't recognize what the last setting was upon start up. Haven't inquired with the dealer yet though.

If/since that is the case, sounds like a bug MB needs to fix. A simple software update would take care of that.

What source are you listening to? I listen to satellite radio and my volume stays where I leave it. I haven't tried other sources to see if that makes a difference.

Mine does it too, though I have fooled around with the auto-volume mode as well as the amplification mode for rear seats to see if it made a significant impact, it doesn't.

FYI, I do know when I use an external source as the input, ie iPhone; then of course I can micro adjust the volume, yet that doesn't really help the issue

Noticed the volume bars decrease/increase in sets of three bars. Wonder why they didn't design it for a more granular adjustment; perhaps one bar at a time...

Go figure

Yep, took mine to the dealer to see if this can be fixed. SA even let me watch the technician to see if he could recode it but no go. He called MB tech in Alabubba for help and the response was it was designed that way. So this design came from the folks in Alabama I was told. They must be hard of hearing there.

If you have set up a "Profile," the volume should be the last setting when you turned off the car. @frtdog Have you set up your Profile?
