Please help me identify this failing weatherstrip/seal (GLE350 roof spoiler)

Hello all,

Could you please help me identify this failing weatherstrip/seal on my 2020 GLE350. It's the weatherstrip that the standard roof spoiler sits on.

The seal/weatherstrip is falling apart, cracking and coming out. So I would like to shoot the part number to my MB dealer for them to order it.

Could someone please let me know what this is called and - maybe - the MB part number? Please see pictures.

Thank you

Chris

Thanks - I can find the spoiler, but not the weatherstrip.

Could it be part of the spoiler and not a separate part?
I have a hard time believeing that we'll have to replace a $1000+ spoiler just because of the weatherstrip.

Let the dealer figure it out.

Agreed to let the dealer figure it out. And…

On the R-Class the exterior D-pillar trim is integral with a weatherstrip that degrades over time. Weatherstrip not available as a separate item so the trim + weatherstrip needs to be purchased. So integral spoiler and weatherstrip would be consistent with the R-Class precedent.

This should be a warranty item for a 2020 vehicle.

It looks like 3M strip caulk.

Confirmed with Friendly Dealer - yes, needs a whole new spoiler.

Crazy Engineering!

But the local MB dealership is taking outstanding care of me and my car.

yes - under warranty

But once these cars come out of the warranty period, if these weatherstrips are designed to deteriorate, Home Depot will be selling a whole lot of Strip Caulk.
