As I recall, the V167 was a 2019 model in much of the world so a 2022 would be the 4th year. In the US they came out in early 2019 so 2022 would be about 3 1/2 years. The AMG’s came later…it would be great to see the new AMG Hybrid at refresh.
The 2023 GLE has been spotted for the first time with the AMG-Line Exterior Package. New additions will likely include the star-pattern grill as seen on the W206 C-Class and Facelifted C257 CLS, as well as a similar lower bumper design to that of the new SL, AMG GT4D Facelift, and EQE. Inside expect new steering wheels and possibly some tech upgrades.
I reserve the right to be wrong, but the steering wheel controls appear to be trendy but frustrating capacitive-touch controls. If so, I think it's a monumental mistake on Mercedes' part. I just don't understand the war on physical buttons.

Cost and profit. Buttons = higher cost and lower profit for carmakers. Higher profit to carmakers will not make an appearance in your or my pockets.
Carmakers don’t care if doing away with buttons bothers anyone. It’s none of their concern.

Oh, I completely understand the motivation. It's the logic I can't wrap my head around. Pissing off customers in wholesale fashion for higher profits is extremely shortsighted. Past attempts to use capacitive controls in cars have resulted in plummeting customer service ratings for other brands, ultimately resulting in the decision being reversed. What makes Mercedes believe they're immune to such criticisms?
Personally, I refuse to own anything with capacitive controls. I was given an E-Class loaner the last time I had my wife's GLC in for service. Simply trying to adjust the radio volume from the steering wheel was a maddening exercise. If the 2021 GLE would have had the same steering wheel, I wouldn't have even considered it. For the price we have to pay to be owners, a few physical buttons doesn't seem too much to ask for. Capacitive steering wheel controls and touchscreen-everything else will drive us from the brand even faster than the rampant glitchy technology will.

Aren't the two touch control buttons for the MBUX on the steering wheel of the existing model capacitive?

The steering wheel thumb pads probably are considered capacitive, but unlike most capacitive controls they're also physical buttons. Pushing them gives sensory feedback. And if you don't like the thumb pads you can limit how much you use them. The right pad in particular is completely redundant, and can be skipped altogether if one prefers one of the other two available methods of interfacing with the infotainment system.
"Under the hood, we can expect a familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 563 hp (420 kW / 571 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque in the standard model, while the S variant increases those numbers to 603 hp (450 kW / 612 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm).
It remains to be seen if the GLE 63 will return to the U.S. lineup, but it seems likely as the company suggested the model’s hiatus was only temporary. Of course, that likely depends on whether or not kinks in the supply chain have been worked out."
If thats a 2023 face-lift its very mild compared to other generations of mid product cycle refresh.
The "temporary " discontinued usa availability of the V8 vehicles really has more to do with CAFE limitations and the fees associated with propping these models up for low mileage. Also when you have an emerging high end client base in India it makes more sense to send all you can there anyway.
With some AMG models selling for up to 150k over msrp the dealers are going to be missing these models bad real quick..
Anyone hear anything on the release date for 2023. Was at my dealer this weekend and said if I ordered the amg package there was a stop order to till May 1. Any regular gle was 10-12 weeks.
My dealer has one remaining allocation for a 2022 GLE 450 for July/August deliver. Next month, he expects to start receiving 2023 allocations for September/October delivery. I plan to wait for that.
