I have both augmented reality and HUD - find them both useful. Appreciate any help in displaying navigation full screen on dashboard.
On the left side of the steering wheel, click the button that looks like a house (or it may be the house/back button). You should see a horizontal menu pop up. When it does, swipe on the touchpad on the left side of the steering wheel until you reach "Navigation". Click on that. Then swipe down one or two times and you should see "enter fullscreen" or something like that. Click on that and it should be full screen on your dash.

Are you talking about the dashboard, which to me means center of dash, between driver and passenger, or Instrument Cluster, in front of the steering wheel?

He’ referring to the button on the left (port) side of the steering wheel for the instrument cluster. You can also enter maintenance mode using that button and other functions as well. You can view the map in full mode or partial mode (between the speedo and tach) on the instrument cluster, and also on the “dashboard/center dash” screen at the same time. If your passenger changes the display on the center screen (as mine loves to do right before a critical turn), it won’t change the map display on the instrument cluster. Makes for a happier marriage.

Thanks - do you know the sequence to get the map displayed in full mode on the instrument cluster? I tried various combinations and didn't see where/how to do it.

Sounds like the co-pilot needs to step down and move back to economy!

Here's the difference between having the Augmented Video on, and off.
I think the "Off" function is easier to follow, especially in complex intersections.
"On" is fun, and it shows house numbers (not on this untraveled street where I parked to take these views).
I also keep the NAV display turned on in the instrument cluster.
There, it's especially useful if I am doing "sporty" driving on a strange road, and I can see what is around the next corner, giving me confidence in approaching the corners.
The "Off" display is essentially what is shown in the Head Up display, including the car icon creeping up on the next turn.
Notice the accident that just happened, and the traffic backing up around it. And the estimated delay shown top left.
The next screenshot shows MBUX re-routing around that traffic jam. Real time, didn't appear on Google maps.
My GLE was built second week of June, picked it up at the end of the 3rd week and I have the augmented reality option. They must have just ran out of what ever chips they needed for them.
I felt fortunate to even get my car with the supply chain issues.

When I was at the MB shop this week, I talked to a SA and later confirmed with the Sales Mgr that there would not be any AR for the immediate future. I ordered DAP with my build and he said the AR was the only thing deleted from the build. If that's the only thing missing, I will be disappointed, but still accept the delivery. If the DAP or a couple of other items are deleted, I will def cancel my order. I think Bowmn got the same info as I did. There are virtually no 2021 450s around with the packages I want in full. That's why i ordered a 2022.
Now that I have AR and got used to it would be a deal-breaker. I wouldn't accept the car without AR.
I like it a lot, but not enough to cancel the car. It's interesting that you find it a deal breaker whereas I have seen many on this forum who don't like it and often disable it. Still, I think its a great option.

But it IS easy to switch off by touching the right part of the screen while it's active, and it defaults to an aerial diagram of all those streets intersecting, and a better depiction of which one of those is the one to use. There's an icon for that.
What I don't know is - if that diagram that I prefer, is the same as a "no AR" version. I've never navigated without AR on the 167s.

I have been using WAZE through Apple Car play in Managements E350. Not sure if I’ll still use it.
I found the trick to using the AR is only when you are close to the junction in question. I prefer the HUD to the AR if I could only have one but find the AR very good when I use it.

When I ordered my GLE in February 2019, there was an option that detected hand motions (I don't recall what it was called) that I believe was part of a package. When the vehicle went into production, I was contacted and was told that it was not ready for release to production just yet and that they would be giving me a credit. I believe that they gave me $200.00. I would have to find the paperwork to verify that. I would ask your dealer for compensation.
I spoke to my dealer and 5 minutes after I got a document from Mercedes where they said that they could not deliver the car with AR or Dash-cam due to shortages.
Once available they will retrofit the camera at no cost.

Interesting, did Mercedes send you something indicating they will retrofit your AR and Dash-cam or was this just verbal? I ordered my GLE450 in May with those options and I was told the Mercedes dropped them from the build due to chip shortages and I would not be getting them retrofitted. If you have some sort of documentation, could you post it? I would love to contact Mercedes and try to get the same retrofit.
