Are you talking about the dashboard, which to me means center of dash, between driver and passenger, or Instrument Cluster, in front of the steering wheel?
I'm hoping praying but I doubt I'll get it got hud think 548 for everyone not being a s- class or better which comes with Xavier-SoC oh well i hope 548 not much slower vs the better SOC on 549 . If anyone knows I'd love to know if there's a discernable difference in speed love see a tech reviewer run a test on these SOCs that would be super cool.
Does anyone actually know what the product difference between the the 548 or 549 option? I assume it's just a module and not the actual screens? If so, what are the part numbers. If its just a plug-n-play module swap, it could be worth it.

From the sound of it is that the difference between option 548 & 549 is just the head unit.
For the European market, these seem to be the SKU's:
548 = a1679001014
549 = a1679004209
The 549 units also support video playback unlike the 548 units. It would still be nice if anyone has the MB part numbers for these head units. I assume, apart from some coding these are plug and play. Same for the AR camera if anyone desires.
My 2022 450 has the 548. I had no idea that there was a newer model and I am fairly certain that my dealer would have played dumb and never would have tried to get the newer unit for me. My 548 loads very slowly and sometimes not at all. Have appt to have them take a look, but I already know the answer. If there was a way to get the 549, I would love to know about it.
the only was is buying a new headunit they cost about 1000$ or if you where crazy good i suppose if there was way to get it to communicate with no issues it technically only the multimedia main board that contains AR here's some photo fo These are the 3 main component boards and other stuff there's pdf of this includes Here's you see AR plug in bottom but notice missing TV/SDARS this from one one You need one like this with both green AR on bottom and obviously it need have TV/SDARS AS THAT'S your SATELLITE radio and tv hook up. Some regions get tv they i think not sure. Anyways its in due while not in motion.
reference . I feel like anyone buying 2022 getting 548 when lots 2020s have the better SOC. AND MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS IS DEFINITELY BS CUZ THIS HEAD UNIT CONTROL PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS IN CAR INCLUDING NAVIGATION AND HOW CAR PROCESSES DATA. I FEEL WE ARE OWED AN EXPLANATION OR SOMEONE filed class action because it's not right they take advantage of people. They have been telling people that losing augmented reality you only lose that feature and giving you measly 400$ I guarantee maybe that is price difference but in terms of what people want when buying a car that cost more than some people's 1st house it matters. I understand people being upset and rightfully so. I have much more info on cla forums I'm all over. I been the biggest advocate and person that alerted people to this discrepancy. If you want me link more things like vulnerabilities in mbux etc I have pdf on that too.

you also lose full screen navigation in drivers side. But I have the American part # for 548 and 549 for cla and few others I suspect all would work. I do know that people who have had 548 have experienced glitches where it got stuck in reset loop and mercedes was magically able to replace their headunits sometimes more than once. If they can do that they should not lie to us and say retrofits are not possible and then furthermore void our warranty if we where to buy headunit and install ourselves . It's just utter nonsense . Also how would one become a moderator I'm very very knowledgeable about mercedes benz cars have over 25 years experience with them.
Need some assistance with AR Nav on a 2022 GLE 450. Vehicle arrived mid January from a Sept 2021 build. All was fine, but after a week or two, the AR arrows no longer show. Been to the dealership 3 times already, and was finally told "it is a limitation in the system" and "not all turns will show". I can accept that some turns don't show, but NONE show. Even turns that in the past did show, no longer show. Video does display, and sometimes street names are overlaid, but not the AR arrows. Picked up vehicle from service dept. five days ago. AR arrows first day, but never again - its been four days without them. It will occasionally work at an intersection, and then not, even though it is the same intersection - see below. Can really use some help here.

How would I know whether augmented reality got kicked out of my build due to parts shortages, though? I have the VMI and it shows that augmented reality is still on there…..would the VMI show any parts related deletions?

look at your build sheet and if it shows U19 on it should be good
