Can anybody tell me the resolution of the dashcam? I was under the impression that it was just OK, but doesn't compete with premium brands that are available.
Can you read license plate numbers, recognize faces, and does it do well in low light conditions?
In other words, aside from its being built in, is it worthwhile? (Thinking about a future order.)

I had Dash Cam accepted on my Netstar order…no problem. As I looked it over I realized that there was no camera. DAP is NA. Traffic Signs requires a Camera but is NA. Some cars are built but sit waiting for something like my 53 did. Anything installed off the Assembly Line could be poo poo! I’m liking my 53 more and more today…actually always liked it.

Don’t be in a hurry, it’s NA along with a bunch of other stuff & no certainty that even if you order your actual build will be what you ordered. I just cancelled my 63 order and will wait until until next year for another look. Mercedes may be more messed up now than ever. Maybe the AMG Hybrids will be announced or Vance gets their $ h I t together.

Well, that's not the feedback I was hoping for, but I'm not surprised anymore. At anything!

I paid the £200 and setup the favourite as mentioned above so it's two clicks away every time I start. Issue is that when I loads the files onto the computer they are all 51mb and are just blank (black video). The camera does work because the AR Nav works fine.

I didn't think of that but it worked a treat !
What I found strange was that the loop recording only does 30 second videos. So a 20 mins ride would be 40 videos. I tried the continuous mode and only got a one minute video. Maybe the memory stick moved.
Should I expect videos to be the same length as the journey (assuming I don't turn off the car or fill the card)

I get actual trip length videos using the "Individual Recording" choice on my 450 (most recent being over an hour). I've set that option as the first feature on my favorite list and am trying to get in the habit of clicking on that each time I get in the car. However, I usually get an error-type message that it can't start just after starting the car - but after waiting a minute or so and doing again it does.
Aside from the frustration of having the dashcam automatically start each trip, the file format of MP4 is most annoying as my video editing program (Corel) doesn't recognize this format and it's a pain to reformat into more common format.
Oh, and another annoying feature is on the video, the vehicle speed is shown in KM. That obviously isn't in sync with my dashboard setting of MPH. Haven't found anyway to change - yet.

The dashcam can record from any other USB-c including the center console. Here is a photo of mine playing music.
You could have the dashcam usb in the center console storage, android auto and USB music connected at the same time.

Just drove the SUV on a long vacation trip and the dashcam kept turning itself off after an hour or two of working. When I tried to turn it back on it would say, function unavailable. Then if I turned the car off for a period of time: stopped for lunch or visiting places, it would finally start back up. But not after short stops like getting gas.
I did get the playback feature working but only in short 1 minute clips. Txs.
(I will not talk performance until I get back home in case I jinx something)
