Checking to see if anyone has any issues in getting audible text alerts through MBUX on their GLE. Dealer says there should be audible alerts. The owner's manual hardly mentions text messages. I get the visual alert on the screen but no audible alert regardless as to what input the system is on (radio, satellite, bluetooth, usb). Our GLC has the same 'issue'. The wife has an iPhone 11 Pro Max and gets the same visual only alerts as I do with my Samsung Galaxy S20 plus. There was a thread on the X253 forum but no responses so i thought I'd try here as well.

I get them as long as they are sent as SMS messages. If they are sent as MMS, they don't come through.

Are the messages showing up in your inbox? They don't automatically play, you have to select it and then press "Read Aloud"

I can access and read/play them from the mbux system and as mentioned, see the visible alert on the screen when they come in.

Sorry, I think i misunderstood your question. I don't get an audible alert when a message comes in, just a graphical change on the text icon on the mBUX screen.

I do get an audible alert, like a ding. The music volume goes down a bit, ding, then music volume goes back. But only for SMS.

I can only speak for iPhones……
-make sure your mute switch isn’t turned on ( button above volume buttons).
-also go into settings/Bluetooth/ and tap the ‘i’ in the circle next to your car and make sure everything is turned on.

I believe the wife's iphone is but will confirm. I know my samsung has everything turned on. However, it's interesting to note that the samsung has the audio option disabled unless you are streaming music even the the calls option is enabled. Even when I stream music via Bluetooth, there is no audible text alert. Annoyingly strange.
