MBUX. Navigation Question

I recently bought the 2020 GLE 450 with MBUX and Aug Reality Nav.

I come from an Audi tbat used Google Maps as the default navigation. The one feature I really liked was when you were on a motorway and you needed to turn off or switch a lane a pop up would come up mirroring the road and tell you which lane you needed to swap to or what turning to make. something like the attached

I was wondering if the MBUX Nav does the same thing? I find the Aug reality a little hard on the motorway as sometimes arrows are hard to see and not always pop up in time.

Check out this
at 10:20. Looks like you can get something close to this, though vehicle doesn't appear to be a GLE 450, so maybe not.

On my GLC an image of the exit pops up in advance showing visually what to expect.

Rumpolejim,

To your original question the answer is yes. I turned all my navigation screens on this morning and recorded these examples of how upcoming turns are illustrated.

Driver screen center and right sections:

Main screen at same intersection with blue arrows showing upcoming turn.

Main screen showing upcoming freeway off-ramp:

I've only had my GLE450 a few weeks now so I'm still learning all the features and this was a helpful exercise for me. Coming from the the archaic navigation in my 2012 ML 350, this navigation system is a massive upgraded experience. So far I like it a lot. One feature my old system had I really liked was a setting to automatically "re-route" you when there are traffic jams. I do get the "life traffic" indicators but so far I haven't found/experienced a similar setting/ability of this system. Anyone know if that exists or not?

So, this might be specific to your region, but as shown above the Mercedes sure has excellent lane guidance as the feature is called. Just to make a correction, though. Audi doesn't use Google Maps. A common misconception. They used to use Google Earth for their satellite image overlay. The maps just like the Mercedes maps are HERE maps, though. I don't have MBUX in my C63, but the latest COMAND, and other than no AR it has equally well lane guidance. I get them on the main screen just like shown above, but also at the bottom of the instrument cluster and in the various other navigation displays I can bring up in the digital instrument cluster. One of the most recent map updates even added lane guidance for express lanes that we now have around here. It guides onto the express lane and then off of it in the right spot in order to make the exit. The lane guidance of the MB nav is frankly far superior to anything Google Maps etc. offers. Even the visuals are more impressive.

Hey, David, how did you get the MBUX Nav to show the speed limit? Does it require the added feature for recognizing signs?

At this point I am using Apple Play to get the speed limit display on navigation...
