Does 'glide mode' activate when the DAP cruise control is engaged?

Not paying attention may explain a lot.

Glide mode will actually disconnect the engine from the power train. When I use it in my loaded 6000 lb. GLS 580 it seems like it will coast forever sometimes. The regen drag is only a few seconds and then it will coast for a long time if you keep your foot off the gas. In a hilly environment it really picks up speed as there is no power train drag. If you observe the screen that shows glide mode you will be amazed at how often it is activated and it can help you learn the ways to get it to activate most often. I watch the EQ gage and drive mode indicator which changes color to see it disengage the engine from the power train. My lifetime combined mpg after 9000 miles is approximately 20mpg (almost zero towing) which Is excellent for a heavy V8 powered SUV. Glide mode helps increase mpg more than the EQ boost IMO.

I haven't mastered it yet, but if you gain speed on downhill glides, you can re-introduce engine braking by slight pressure on the gas pedal.
It's kind of strange - adding throttle to slow down, but I think that's the way it works.

I turn it off, too much of a jolt every time it turns back on. Also, you need the air conditioner running full time in Florida.

This would have been a great question for a poll. I leave it on nearly all of the time.
