GLE450 Spare Wheel

As there is no spare wheel in the car I was looking to buy one for when I travel to remote places or abroad.
I know there's nowhere to put it other than in the boot but that's fine.
It seems the space saver spare wheel is out of stock at MB at the moment and the bolt are £15 each !

Does any one know:
1) If the W166 space savers spare would be ok?
2) If I took a spare full size wheel and tyre would a W166 one be ok. I read somewhere about the bolt size changing?

Any other help or ideas would be great.

The bolt changed from 14mm to 15mm so you might have to drill your holes larger. Why not just get a normal size tire and wheel for a spare? The slightly larger size vs the practicality of one that would work normally might be worth losing a little more space. Then there are rooftop carriers that you might tweak for the spare.

Yes thats a good idea. Are you saying the alloys for the W166 and W167 have different sizes holes? A full size wheel is a great idea.

The factory wheels would normally have a 1mm smaller hole W166 vs V167. My aftermarket wheels did not need drilled…probably a case by case evaluation.

Try eBay. The part number is A1674000300 for the 19 inch spare that works on both the GLE and GLS. I was able to find one for 280$ when the dealer wanted $480. The spare M15 lugs are also available for about $38 for the set of 5.

You might give the folks at Modern Spare .com a call. The GLC forum has purchased lots of spares, jacks etc from them.
They seem to produce a quality product. From Colorado.
They don't have a spare listed for the 167 cars, but they might be able to source a kit.

I called about our GLC, and the person I spoke with was quite knowledgeable, no BS.
Listing for E-Class- https://modernspare.com/product/2017...e-kit-options/

No I didn't call. The other issue is I am not in the USA so shipping to the UK would be expensive.

In the end I bought a second hand wheel for the 167 and a pre-owned tyre for £200 all in. Has the benefit that if I need it it just pops on like a normal tyre. It does take up a lot of boot space which isn't really an issue as I will only use it on long journeys.
