I've seen this message a few times and there is no associated help message to go with it.
I sent the dealer a message and they didn't know.
I have only had it appear a few times and every time when the car was stationary. I would drive along, park, leave the car running (sometimes the engine would stop as I had stop start turned on). After a few mins it would come on. Car has just been serviced and coolant temp is normal (slightly below normal actually).
Doesn't happen very often. Only twice in the last week. Outside temp is cool 12.5c

I tried that and the main screen tried to open a URL but the URL wasn't found or it said no more information or something like that. It didn't answer the question.

Got the message again today and selected the i as you mentioned and got this.. Message received after you select i after the yellow thermometer message.
Same thing happened to me couple of weeks ago. Started car in morning that yellow temperature symbol popped up. Turned off car checked coolant reservoir it was full. Started car again it disappeared hasn’t come back on. Texted my S/A said can’t do anything until it permanently stays on once it’s off can’t trace it. Hasn’t come back on since then. Good thing we can see the coolant reservoir imagine if that was hidden and couldn’t check it like the engine or tranny oil level? Guess another gremlin on this car.

That's interesting. In the past with my 2010 and 2014 ML diesels, they were able to scan, download or otherwise find stored codes, even after they disappeared from the dash "Service" display. It took about 20 to 30 minutes for the download.
I wonder what changed.
My ‘21 GLS63 has that same error show up every now and then. Usually after it has been hot outside or when I had it in Sport. But not always. At least that’s what I tried to correlate it to. Only shows up the next time I turn it on. It’s random.
I don't think it is the transmission oil temperature? Based on the one above (same icon, but with text), it said "The coolant is too hot" which kind of point to the engine temperature? But I could be wrong.
I had the same message many times and some time it had a check engine light with it. That I could not capture. But the last time I did and it had a code P0A93. That helped the garage to find the problem. I hope this will help you .
