My new 2020 GLE with 12K miles has stalled in traffic twice, leaving me at risk of being in a serious accident. Both times I came to a normal stop at a traffic light and the car cut off. Once I was in heavy traffic in a left hand turn lane with cars coming at me going 55mph and folks blowing the horn behind me. I had to wait a minute and restart the car, then is lunged forward and finally started going again. Sometimes from a cold start it won't start if the keys are in an exact position in the console. How safe is that if your being car jacked? I emailed my local dealership about this stalling issue and they never replied. It looks like this is a common problem, is there a solution? I would gladly sell this car back to MB for a fair price, but I paid 90K in November of 2020 and they offered me 55K in Sept of 2021. Less than one year old and losing 35K is not acceptable. Driving a 90K vehicle that is about as reliable as a 75 Pinto is also not acceptable. Has anyone had similar experiences (many others are documented here)? Why does MB not recall this car asap?
Sorry to hear of your experience, scary and disappointing as it is.
Try posting the question in the V167 section of the site. A very large number of owners are having similar problems, many of them related to the MB failure known as the 48V system.

The car won't stall because your key battery dies. Instead, you'll probably get a warning "Key not present."
But if you have to place the key in the "exact spot," the first troubleshooting step is to replace the key battery. Dealers will usually do this for you without charge.
Next step in contacting the dealership is a phone call. If the email address didn't work, verify you sent it to the correct address.
I agree that a stalled car in a busy intersection is a problem, so I'd take it to the dealership to get it fixed. It's under warranty.
You are the first to comment on this problem, as far as I have seen. Your poll may find another, but I wouldn't delay going to the dealer, waiting for more poll results.
