2020 GLE450 Stalling Issue
We have owned our GLE450 for just on 1 year. Around 6 months after purchasing the car I was coasting to a stop and the auto engine shut off kicked in, when the lights changed and I went to accelerate the engine was dead, I had to restart the engine to keep moving. I put this down to something I did until it happened again a few weeks later, we had the car towed to Mercedes who said it was an issue with pump on the transmission, they did an update and it seemed to fix it.
Fast forward 6 months and it happens again, this time with the auto engine shut off feather disabled and while moving in traffic, we nearly got rear ended.
Towed the car to Mercedes again, they have now had the car for 5 weeks and cannot replicate the problem. They are now telling us to come and collect the vehicle as there is nothing wrong with it, like we would make this up...
Has anyone else had a similar issue? We are trying to build a case to take to the ACCC in Australia for a refund or new car.
This is my wife's car and I don't want her driving it with our children in it as it's just too dangerous.

I sincerely hope your issue gets resolved quickly, but based on my experience it seems unlikely. You might want to start formulating a plan B. I wish you luck!

If I were troubleshooting that problem 50 years ago, my first thought would be "loose coil wire."

I think they did an upgrade to the ECM, the motor went into limp mode twice, still had other failings with electrical, ac and radiator, whole dashboard had to be removed twice, since sold the car and brought an Audi SQ7.

A brief update on our GLE450 stalling issue. A technician suggested it may be related to the transmission.
So a transmission update (around four weeks ago) has seemed to solve the problem, so far. Who would have thought?

Thanks for the update might be a glitch in the previous software making the ECU and TCU communicating wrong, or one of them are confused with the information one is receiving. Therefore the engine turns off to prevent any chance of damage.
