I will not have another car without it. Our last 7 cars have had it. I use it on the interstate a lot. I set the cruise at a lower speed and then just drive with the gas (overriding the cruise). The cruise then helps steer and brake whenever I want. That way I can also stay a little closer to the car in front of me on the interstate so no impatient right lane jumper can pass me. The car applies the brakes for me in this case.

Wouldn’t brakes be cheaper and easier than dent, dings and ditches.

Yeah, or you could just actually drive the car instead of letting it drive you.

This bugged me too, especially on freeways winding through mountains. Then I discovered that if you change from Comfort to Sport setting, car will maintain speed setting unless a really sharp/steep curve, in which case I'd usually be tapping the brakes anyway.

I “drive” my wife’s car. When she lets me…….or it needs gas.

Speaking of driving the other car and sorry to be off topic but I’m impressed with it and want to brag. I got 3.22 0-60 in it the other day with the whole family (3) in it.

GLE450
I have it on my 2020 GLE450 and I don’t regret paying for it. For the last three years I’ve only used DAP on road trips (SF to LA), or on free way when traffic is light, and it does seem to make long trip driving easier. I stopped using the stop-and-go traffic feature as it feels unsafe, starting too slowly and breaking too late that my wife gets mad at me.

Recently I’ve started seeing more frequent warnings saying “Camera View Restricted”.

FWIW I bought this SUV after lease ended last month while waiting for a Model X, with the hype that Autopilot/FSD features are better compared to MB DAP, but who knows.

I spent a year trying to get my DAPP fixed by my Dealer. Traffic Sign misreads, erratic behavior of Distronic, erratic braking, etc. When I started getting that same warning “Camera View Restricted”, it became obvious that my Camera was the problem. There is apparently a Service Bulletin on the subject. Milne turned out to be “off gassing” from the plastic-solution to bake the plastic at 200 degrees for an hour and replace the multi function camera. They also cleaned everything with alcohol. Might be worth a trip to the Dealer…might help to take a picture of the warning next time it shows.
