GLE 3rd row head rest sticks out too far is uncomfortable
My 6 yr old can't sit in the 3rd row comfortably without removing the headrest. It sticks out pushing her head so far forward I assume it must adjust but seems not to. Anyone have this issue? 2021 Gle 53

Very much appreciate you sharing. They do go up and down but there's just not a height that works that doesn't push her head uncomfortably forward. You can see how thick they are in the first part of the video. With the head rests completely removed I just put a cloth over the plastic slot where they usually fit. Hard to explain without a visual. It's all fine for the most part she rides in the 2nd row, but if we were in an accident while she sat there I'd wore about whiplash quite a lot.

Yes, it looks super bulky from the side angle. Man that looks uncomfortable by yiur description. The occasional 3rd row is very important to us. Let me talk to my SA. Were you able to reach out to the dealership

I'll be at the dealer tomorrow for inspection. If there's an update I'll let you know, I have a feeling it has to be like that in order to meet some safety requirements at the expense of comfort.

I also noticed that the head restraint for the GLS looks much thinner. Worst case, you can also ask if that is something we can buy and replace? I found this old GL instructions, which make it sound like the angle is also adjustable on them. It's a long shot, but does that work on the GLE?
The disclaimer in that instruction does confirm your "whiplash" concerns. One should not sit in a seat with head restraint removed.
