Jackpad for Mercedes and jacking points at the front
Anyone have any jackpad recommendations? I ordered a few from Amazonbrake pads people say was compatible for Mercedes but they felt very wobbly when I put it in the space at one of the four corners. Last thing I would want is adapter coming out while jacking the car up. Has anyone bought one for their GLE V167 that fits perfectly?
Also, is there a place I can jack from the front center of the vehicle? I saw that the ML had one at the front center which was visible but did mercedes remove it for V167 or could it be under the cover? I would like to get a jackstand at the recommended jackstand points instead of the trolley jack being in the way when working on the brakepads.
jackstand is a bit pricy. Worth it? Also, for your gle, is there a spot that you can jack up in the front (not ball joint). I want to place two stands at least in the front and at the recommneded side jacking point.
I got one at Harbor Freight, "Pittsburgh" brand. Probably Pin-Yung-Bao brand, transliterated to "Pittsburgh".
It does the the job. The large rollers don't roll well, but for the frequency I use it, it's good enough. I use it for tire rotation and changing brake pads/rotors.

Thanks I am planning on changing my brake pads soon so want to get prepared.
Brakes on base model MBs with floating calipers are dead simple. For the rears, the electric parking brake needs to be retracted. This is user-operable on W166 using the steering wheel buttons and MFD. Don't know if that carries into V167.
Why do you want a second jack? Safety redundancy? Slide the wheel/tire under the rocker panel or under the front fascia/stabilizer bar area.
There is no reason for a human to be under the vehicle if the only job is changing pads, rotors or bleeding the brakes. Agree?
I imagine there is a central jacking point on V167. I haven't seen anyone post a photo with the bellypans removed. It's likely center of vehicle under a crossmember under the oil pan, or thereabouts. Seems MB has deleted the traditional steel rectangle central lifting point in the front from prior models. Sadly.
