BIG MISTAKE. This unit will not work correctly with adaptors of any sort.. It will lag so much, it render the unit unusable. I packed it and was readying it to return and then it hit me, I have an iPad USB-C to USB-C cable.
Plugged it in USB-C to USB-C and I am happy to report that the unit works flawlessly, connects within 30 seconds of starting MBUX, and most importantly, there's no loss of sound quality or volume (I am an audiophile). Only complaint is that there's a minor delay when inputting or clicking any option (about 1 second). Hope this can be sorted via a firmware upgrade.

I purchased version 3.0 and received it yesterday. I was disappointed to see that it shipped with a USB-C to USB-A cable. Since I had an adaptor that came with my car, I did not make a big fuss about it.

Concerned about security
I've ordered one and see it ships from China. Our phones have ALL are important information. Connected to a network, not sure what the device might be transmitting back to unkown servers.
I would be interested if the device has been evaluated for security.

I see the wire going somewhere. Did you placed it below that aftermarket charger? If it is below it can you take a picture of it as I want to see how big it is on the cubby. Thanks!
