Clay bar is not that useful as it not agronomic to hold. If you hit a dry spot it would leave black marks. Lubricant does feel sufficient enough and leave some smoothness after. Overall, I would say 50-70% efficiency to lift sediment of the paint. Although i could have used more force then applying clay bar. Used on 1.5 year old white paint. The package lasted for 1 application. (large truck). Next time, i would use standard clay bar with this detailer.

I just used up my old Sonax and Griot's Garage, but I see they have newer formulas, so I'll see about the above first. A lot goes a little ways, so I'll be ready to try the Sonax, which was my previous fave.
Many of these main stream products sell well but there is much better stuff out there. Obsessed Garage has done the hard work for us. I don't want t get stuck on one brand. I like their pursuit for perfection.

How about some experiences with some of those products?
There seem to be more Detailing YouTube channels than cooking schools, and I'm getting suspicious of most of them. Most have product links, so they get paid by listing them. YouTube is very lucrative.
Whoops - I just visited Obsessed Garage, and a red flag: they sell their own products, and review them against others. Hmmm.
If this thread can rise above those product pushers with personal experiences, that'd be a good thing.
I’ve moved away from waxes and traditional sealants, using only silicon-based sealants with good results. It’s a relatively cheap way to put on a ceramic coating on your own, but they just don’t last very long, which is not bad since it’s easy to reapply. Of course, nothing beats a professional application, but these products work well on their own or after your professional application. The gloss is unmatched.
