Our 450 was delivered on 10/21, and we ordered at the end of July .. 7/22. While we were picking up, our sales guy said he had two people coming later in the day to order 450's, and they wouldn't get theirs until sometime in January. So if his info is correct (and I am confident it is), then January seems like the correct window for yours.

I ordered on June 13. Nothing yet. It's been 5 months and I keep extending my GLS450 lease. Not sure if they will extend after December 28.

Boy, that'll be cutting it close.
Do as much of the paperwork and decision-making ahead of time (warranty, accessories, turn-in inspection etc.), because that'll be the busiest time of year for them.

Fingers crossed.

My new 2023 GLE 450 did come with 4 zone climate control. It is scheduled to have a spoiler (like the distinction it adds to the back) and get the MB 1st class exterior/interior coating. Has anyone gotten the E/I coating done on their SUV? Does it make a difference and help?

I could be wrong but those appear to be Dealer specific items, haven’t seen these mentioned anywhere as actual Mercedes.. F&I makes a profit by “up selling” added services/accessories. They may be of little value or overpriced and it’s hard to compare them from Dealer to Dealer. I never do interior by Dealer. Exterior is usually a choice of PPF (film) and/or a Ceramic coating. My PPF installer has a Crramic special at $1695 and Porsche Dealer just quoted $2595 with $500 discount. Everything’s on sale🤑 Different products-hard to find reviews-necessary?
PPF is a good investment if you are in the North and travel on sanded roadways. Ceramic opinions are varied but don’t waste your $ if you use automated car washes much, IMO. Also know that Ceramic needs renewed (annually) and make sure that’s included in the deal.

Just to clarify, those prices are for PPF on just the front right, not full body?

Those were Ceramic quotes. PPF prices from 2 reputable sources were-full front, bumper strip below cargo opening & lower 1/4 of doors, rocker panel, rear wheel arch molding was Xpel $2195 Dealer shop & Xpel Corporate $2766 (included a 10% repeat customer discount) I’ve used both in the past and will go with my Dealer for the large price difference.
Edit-This is for a Porsche Cayenne. Full front was $1995 Dealer & they threw in the rest for $200. XPEL (Xpel owned shop) list prices are $2195 front; $500 sides; $79 bumper strip.

Ordered 2023 GLE450 on June 13. Salesman just told me that my build date is January 19 and can expect the vehicle by the end of February. I extended my GLS450 lease from July 28 to now end on December 28. Hoping Mercedes will extend again.

Wow! What state is it being delivered to? That’s a long time from build to delivery date! I ordered in July 2022 and delivered in Oct 2022. I thought the three month wait was long.

I think they must be retooling to produce the 450 versions in mid January. Reason, I see many others are having theirs built same time as mine. Who knows.

We'll probably never know the real reason TBH.
Someone else pointed out that the GLE 63 hasnt gone through EPA certification yet when I mentioned mine was taking forever. But the 450 was already certified by EPA in august, so thats not the reason for your build being late.
I've seen some 2023 GLE 53s and 450s posted online already too.

Give MBCA a call. They are very helpful.
Consider joining. Many Dealers give parts / service discounts to members.

The difficulty has been - when do you apply the discount when placing an order?
I think you have to wait until delivery, when your model might have no discount. Maybe there's a way to lock in the discount.
Let us know if you find anything.
Do you need to be a member for 1 gull month before getting any discounts?
also will 2023 models be eligible?>

It's best to call the home office in Colorado Springs. Better extremely helpful.

I'd be curious to know if you could use your ID number on an ordered car, and lock in todays discount.
I don't think so, and the solution will be to get the ID card within 30 days of your using it. But whenever it arrives there maybe no discount.

It's best to hear it from them. Let us know what you find out.

Hers is my update. My build date is February 23, so I decides to get numbers for a 48/12K month lease. I get my quote from my salesman for whom I have dealt with for 24 years. I have lease equity in my current vehicle which is a 2019 GLS. I am quoted much higher than every lease calculator given the MSRP, money factor, taxes, etc. It seems to me that my quote was calculated by ADDING the lease equity to the MSRP and then using the trade in value. Is something wrong here? I have a call into my salesman. With this quote I can get a comparable lease for a new 2022 Lincoln Navigator (long version). Will check the Cadillac Escalade also.

Went to dealer today, and again no VIN. Told maybe 1/26/23. Then I am told my trade is now 4K less. I am really not happy and may just walk away from this. Anyone care to give a thought on this?

Get comparisons from Vroom and Carmax to see if dealer is in line. Used car prices are dropping, so it's to be expected.

^^^Were dropping^^^

The forced EV transition is driving prices back up, especially on popular, low supply cars like the GLE450 / AMG53./ 63.
Additional Dealer Profit labels are appearoing again on the higher profit margin cars, which may be an indicator of reversal of used car prices.

Some of the recent decrease might be due to CarVana going bankrupt, and stress on Carmax and the like, from buying high into a "less hot" market, otherwise known as "Buying Market Share." The dumping of their inventory may have passed.
It also happened to Zillow in the housing market.

It will be difficult to predict values on premium cars for another year, so I'd look to buy a car I've found if it's a good one. Depending on your crystal ball.

(That Manheim chart sure looks like a Head and Shoulders, preceding a big drop. Hmmm.)

Unfortunately used car prices are dropping and a lot of analysts say they will continue. Dealers are refusing to see it. There are also many reports that people are slowing their spending too. That’s going to continue to hurt the market. If you really want the SUV, I’d try to unload your current car and find something to fill the gap until it gets here. Otherwise wait it out. I’ve been in your shoes before, waited it out, and lost big time on the car I was holding and waiting till the new one got here. I should have have taken my own advice.
Good luck.

Here I am complaining about now 3K, giving more discount. 20 years ago I was driving a used jeep that was way under powered. I lost everything in 1994-96 and had to start all over again. I can certainly handle the 3K hit and I will stop whining. Everyone should be in this position in life. Ok I am good again, new GLE 3 weeks if all goes well.
