2023 GLE 450 ordered

The other day we ordered a 2023 GLE 450. Dealer gave a discount and MB club also throws in a few dollars.
Trading in a E450 Cabrio. 19K miles on it. This is my wifes car and she never put the top down. 4 cars and none have a back seat, time for a change and we hope this is a good one.
Ordered with air suspension, hitch, heated seats, wheel, cup holder heat/cold, premium group, and more. Of course she wants a black vehicle as usual.
I like that MB finally has touch screen. My ram 2500 diesel had this years prior. Sad that my Ram has more technology than her E450.

Hopefully this vehicle makes us all happy and she enjoys the power. The GLS was too big for her, my wife is very small. I told her to get the GLE580, but she likes what she likes, and the wait begins. I see these are made in the USA, any ideas on time to get delivery.

What % discount did you get? Did they give you a build date? or just put you on the waitlist?

All the kids are grown and gone. Now we have two large dogs that will fill the back up. 4 cars now and no back seats. Even my Ram the only one that has a real back seat is useless. The seats are down so the dogs can fit in a megacab truck. Got the kids off and we start all over with dogs. Are we nuts?

Figured this vehicle would be perfect o have rear seating if needed. Only time will tell. Hopefully the vehicle is made well and we don't have issues.

Improved system now. You get an actual Fleet discount number, which the Dealer uses for reimbursement.
The discount varies from zero to some big numbers, and it changes often.

The listed MBCA.org member discounts are for model year 2022. Will your dealer apply it to your model year 2023?

It changes monthly, and it doesn't apply to all models. It's a Fleet discount, directly through MB.
Give MBCA a call. They are very helpful.
Consider joining. Many Dealers give parts / service discounts to members.

The difficulty has been - when do you apply the discount when placing an order?
I think you have to wait until delivery, when your model might have no discount. Maybe there's a way to lock in the discount.
Let us know if you find anything.

I believe once you have the discount code it is locked in, but it is applied when you finalize the sale.

I think you're correct now.
It didn't work for me, but it early in the Fleet Discount program, so we were uncertain what would happen.

It turned out well for me, because there were no discounts when I finalized my order, but one appeared the week before delivery. I got it. They applied it in F&I.

And to be clear, the Fleet system was new in 2021. Before that it needed "Dealer Participation" (they lost money), so not all Dealers honored the code.
Now there's no financial participation by Dealers, so they welcome it. (As I understand it.)

I special ordered a GLE 450 on July 7, 2022 and I am still waiting on it. I live in AL and the manufacturing plant is just up the highway from the dealership of where placed my order. ???? I can’t seem to get any updated production sheets nor info on a delivery date. My locked preapproved loan interest rate has expired now and still no vehicle. I have requested a vin number to hold the interest rate lock and they have not been able to provide me with one iota! I am a MB loyal owner however I will never build another MB vehicle!

Great news today! My 2023 GLE 450 SUV build was delivered to the dealership today! Prayerfully, I will pick it up Saturday!

It sounds like you have a bad dealer, or at least a bad salesperson. You need to be proactive and go into the dealer, see the sales manager, and have them pull up the order while you watch on their StarLink computer. If there is an accepted order there will be a PO number, a production status code and a "decade planned" listed. If they can't give you that they have lied to you and don't have an allocation. A VIN is assigned once production starts.

Hi @Sandye I ordered a 22 GLE 450 in March 2022. It was built in August and arrived at the dealership today, Oct 12. Happy to share more about my experience.

I received the initial vehicle production sheet when I requested the SUV build and paid the retainer. About a month or more later I called and requested an updated sheet and the salesman sent me a copy of the same initial sheet. I requested to be updated on the build status periodically yet haven’t received any info. I have been left feeling as if I’m pestering them when call for updates on its status. However, my credit union also asked me to check with them due to the interest rates increasing frequently, lately. I have not been notified if there are delays in production nor anything else only what was on the initial production sheet - “current status A4”.

I was always told the discount code/fleet discount is only usable once a year, good for only 30 days once you get it, and the discount you get is the current one offered at that time when you finalize the paperwork and actually “buy” the car. And I also thought the “fleet discount” is different and separate from the MBCA.org discount?

MBUSA's "fleet" program is good for one car per year. The incentive amount will be the one available when the car is purchased. Can't combine offers.

In the past, the MBCA program was a discount program, "at participating dealers." This meant that it cost the dealer to participate, usually booked as an Ad expense.
Now the MBCA program is an actual fleet number that's good for a limited time, but can be renewed if you don't use it, as I understand it.

@mercedesmax is correct about the restrictions etc.
The MBCA staff is exceptionally helpful. Give them a call.

Dual vs Four Zone climate control

I requested a four zone climate control with my 2023 GLE 450 build. However, when I received the latest production (MSRP) sheet it shows the dual system instead. Question is there coming to a significant difference in the cabin’s airflow distribution with the dual rather than four zone system? Also, is there possibly some reason they can’t equip it with the four zone?

Not sure. On my 22 450 I had ordered it and there were no issues. The only option I was bit able to get was AR.

Discount?

You got a $2,000 discount from the dealer?

In interested in a 350 gle and the dealer is talking about adding on fees. Will pay more than MSRP for sure.

are there any destination charges?

it’s the degree of adjustability for the second row. With the basic system you can only throttle the vents. I don’t understand your second question. There is obviously a reason or M-B would happily take your money.

Your rear seat passengers also get vents in the B pillars with option 581. Iirc there is a filter in addition to the base system, but I'm not real clear about if this is a second filter in addition to any other that may or may not be present.

From mbusa site:

Four individual temperature controls offer personalized comfort to the front and rear cabins. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes sun and humidity sensors, a dust/pollen filter, and an activated charcoal filter that automatically recirculates cabin air upon detecting a significant increase in smog.
