2020 GLE350 rear alignment problems

We have a 2020 GLE 350 that wore the right rear tire inner about 2/3rds across tire. Had great tread on outer edge and nothing on inside edge. We took it to our dealer to get a new tire and alignment. My problem is that everything that was out of spec they got in spec except the rear camber which is still Red on the sheet and says out of spec. I was on phone today trying to get answers as to why?? I used to do alignments for a living long ago and I know it’s not correct and not going to keep putting $425 tires on it. I was told there was no adjustment on the rear camber so I am trying to find out what’s going on and why would Mercedes not make it adjustable?? Not real happy
oh and current setting are -1 34 left and -1 56 right

MB are well known for inner tire wear, mainly rear. Caused mainly by excessive factory camber specifications and not helped by lack of adjustment as you noted. Heavy right foot also plays a role. K-Mac offers aftermarket adjustment products if you don’t get satisfaction with the factory hardware.

Not normal, IMO. I’ve had two V167’s both with 20k, 22k and no irregular wear. I drive aggressively, so I’ve been told…particularly love curvy roads.

On my wife's 580, the right rear wearing more quickly than the left rear was quite noticeable. But when we replaced them, both tires were at the wear bars, and both in definite need of replacement. I thought we had a thread or two on this forum about the right rear experiencing more wear due to the 4Matic drive characteristics (or some other cause, don't recall at the time)? Discount Tire seemed to think it was also "normal" and not alignment related.

I wonder if those settings would be swapped in a right hand drive vehicle, due to the crown of the road. What is the recommended range?

I think some of the alignment bolts are single use bolts, if that affects anything you're doing.

Yes we manufacture both Front and Rear Camber Caster and extra Toe adjuster kits for virtually every model Mercedes Benz Sedans, Coupes, Wagons, SUV’s AMG & Black Series plus light commercials (Sprinter, Vito) 1968 to 2022

Lack of OEM adjustment has been brought about through cost cutting and ever increasing speed of Auto assembly lines.

Earlier models that have OEM Camber and Caster we provide extra adjustment (also majority of kits are designed to replace at same time the 4 front and rear highest wearing bushings).

Current models the often quoted reassuring “Full Front & Rear ‘4’ Wheel Alignment” is only Toe (directional) adjustment. No essential Camber to allow to adjust tire contact angles - spread load more evenly. Preventing costly premature replacement of tires.

Align tech can adjust Toe all he wants but it is not going to resolve excess edge wear brought about by day to day commuting encountering high cambered roads or wheel squat through load carrying or lowering. Plus the frustration of no adjustment to cater for curb knock damage.

All align tech can do to try and placate is to state - “have adjusted to factory specs”.

Owners then going from one dealer or align shop to the next or experimenting with changing tire brands.

FOR ALL GLE V167 WE THEREFORE MANUFACTURE:

REAR CAMBER (and Extra Toe to compensate) upper adjustable control arms. KMAC are precisely adjustable on vehicle and are heavy duty designed for extreme conditions. Unlike other brands not soft extruded aluminum#504226N $695

FRONT CAMBER & CASTER Upper ‘A’ arm inner bushings. Precisely adjustable. Design retains the original hi strength forged alloy OEM arms. Bush extraction tool included. #504216-2K $480.

Worldwide delivery $40 one kit $60 Front & Rear

KMac thank you for the help, I have looked all over the KMac website and do not see the part number you listed for the rear of my Mercedes. Not sure if I am missing it or what. I would like to see what it looks like and consists of. Can you direct me to the actual part on the website. Thank you
