Want to Pre/Order Build a 350 GLE What should I expect to pay?

First time buying a Mercedes and I'm looking to build a 350 GLE 4 Matic. MSRP is coming to $70,150.

What should I expect in terms of dealer markup/ fees, etc? I'm hoping I can just pay MSRP or less but initial contact with dealer isn't very favorable.

I'm in New England if that matters.

I imagine if you shop around, MSRP should not be a problem. If you find a dealer you can work with and trust, show them you are for real with some written quotes from others and that you are serious and not just a tire kicker. It shouldn’t be too hard on a 350. Someone on here can chime in for a good dealer in the New England area. I never had luck the one time I called a dealer in that area in that they said they would not sell to someone out of the area.
Try here. They always seemed to have good prices preCovid. I haven’t tried them since then.

Good luck.

In NYC, I was quoted 20k over MSRP for a GLE 63S. I managed to get it down to "only" 10k over.
A buddy of mine got a GLS and was quoted 5k over.

Less is probably off the table. You should be able to find an MSRP deal.

. My sincere recommendations is don’t pay dealer markup if possible. I purchased my GLE 350 from a dealer miles away from the two closest dealers who wanted 5 grand over MSRP. I paid MSRP, but they threw in floor mats and door handle inserts. One greedy dealer demanded 5K over MSRP for the GLE 350 and 10K for the 450 because they were in limited supply. He didn’t bat an eye when he said it. And, was not concerned when I walked away. My suggestion is contact dealers hundreds a miles away for the best price. As, it don’t matter where you purchased your vehicle. The warranty and maintenance must be honored at all dealer locations. In fact, I saved hundreds when I also purchased my maintenance agreement and clear coat from a different dealer than where I purchased my GLE 350. Because they price was much less. My philosophy is, why would I not shop around for savings on a car when my frugal wife use coupons and look for deals when grocery shopping?

Just ordered one 2 days ago

I went to Mercedes-Benz Westwood, ordered for MSRP just 2 days ago, I needed a third row for my situation but the price was coming in about $73k. No dealer markup. Timeline will be 3-4 months.

While I agree with you that it doesn't matter where you purchase for warranty and maintenance, there may be an issue getting a loaner. I needed to switch dealership, and couldn't find one within 50 miles that would provide me a loaner. They all said that they are reserved for customers who purchased through them. I finally got a buddy of mine to talk his dealership into doing it for me. So ask first before you decide.

Here is the facts about maintenance and purchasing at at dealer. It like buying a printer. Very little profit for the printer, but they make up for it with the ink cartridges. Mercedes-Benz makes a boat load of money with maintenance over the years of a vehicle. I would ask before I scheduled maintenance. In fact, I did not purchase my vehicle at my maintenance
Facility. However, they come to pick up my car and leave me with a loaner. I would have another chat with them.
