2023 GLE 350
![Post](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
We bought a 2023 GLE 350 last Friday. Before we left the lot I observed a yellow light and asked what it was. They said it was a fuel sensor indicator and they would have to order the part. We were provided a loaner and today I called to ask about our new car. I was then told the problem also involved the fuel injector inside the gas tank and they would now have to order replacement parts from Germany which could take up to two weeks. We argued about a vehicle with 14 miles on it having a problem like this. They finally agreed to take the parts off a vehicle on the lot and swap it out with ours which would hopefully only take a couple of days. They offered us $1000.00 credit towards any items in their gift shop and if there are any other mechanical issues within 30 days, they would buy the car back from us. This is our first and now probably last Mercedes. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Yeah that sucks and is unacceptable. It’s pathetic really and it’s comical they threw out a buyback so early. I would demand more and start keeping track of days in the shop so you can lemon it if it happens to limp past that 30 day offer. Good luck.
However, this should serve as a warning: buyer beware. MB hasn’t fixed anything and quality control still stinks in 2023.

For what it's worth, I'm not aware of anyone else having this problem...I don't recall another post on this forum with a similar problem, so hopefully it will be fixed soon and all will be forgotten. If you will, post a redacted copy of the invoice you get from the dealer that details what was repaired...I'm curious. I assume fuel injector inside the gas tank is the fuel pump?

There will always be rare random failures of parts on a brand new car, check out this guy with his brand new Corvette. I am more concerned with Mercedes always seeming to need to order a part from Germany. Especially on a vehicle built in Alabama.

I don’t think that should be an excuse. However, it does seem fitting in the sense that GMC, like MB, is also scraping the bottom of the barrel in the latest CR reliability survey so misery does love company when it comes to build quality and reliability.

Buy a GMC if you're truck shopping. IDK of a better Contra-indicator.

We had a similar, more significant issue with the AC of our new BMW M8 which required a new compressor, evaporator and condenser and so did virtually every M8 in the US. The vendor was backordered and dealers ripped AC units out of brand-new deliveries. Not a nice thought on a $160k car but this happens at times. Most important is that the dealer does right by you.
They did for us and it didn't tarnish my experience with the car or the brand...
Good luck
