2022 GLE 350 I bought didnt come with running boards.
Trying to see if there are any after market options available.
Called nearest Mercedes Dealer to check on the price of running boards and was told that they cannot be added later.
Trying to see if that is true.

A few weeks ago, I went through the exact same situation you are going through. I bought a 2023 GLE 53 Coupe without running boards. I was also told by the parts department that they cannot be added later. I searched around and bought a set off of Amazon for $549. When they arrived, I took them out to install them and they felt cheap. On the flimsy side. The aluminum top surface flexed and just didn't seem sturdy. I sent them back.

Undiscouraged, I searched some more. I found another set from Broadfeet Motorsports (broadfeet.com). They described their boards differently, including construction materials. Their site states they "manufacture aftermarket parts". I looked at the pictures of the running boards on their site and compared them to the pictures of the boards on Amazon and eBay. They look structurally different.

I took another chance and ordered a set. $769 for my Coupe. I can tell you they are awesome. Personally I think they are better than OEM. They do not flex and the aluminum surface is rock solid. Very well made and very easy to install. I got the set with the lights (like OEM) but they don't work. The hardware plugs and present under the vehicle and they match up perfectly with the supplied harnesses on the running boards, however, from what I have found out is in order for them to work, they have to be added by flashing the computer. They flash quickly about 4 times then nothing. And the door handle touch unlock and unlock stop working while they are hooked up. They also include wiring to tap into the dome light, but I'm not going to splice into the system. I'm just happy to have running boards that look identical to factory. Even my salesman was stunned. He also stated they seemed better than OEM.

Yes, I installed them myself. I used YouTube to figure out how to do it 🤣. Not hard at all. I took my time. Took about 90 minutes.

Seems to be the ones suggested by Dr Zoidberg. Looks to be a pretty good deal. Will let everyone how it goes after receiving and installing them.

Did your keyless entry stopped working when hooked up like Dr. Zoidberg? I also purchased from
Broadfeet and my door keyless entry by touching the handle doesn't work anymore. Wondering if anyone got a fix for it.

So you installed those from Broadfeet? and do they illuminate now or do you face the same issue like Dr. Zoidberg with them not lighting up?
Did you fix your door handles?
