Just wondering how they work?
Btw Ok I get it. This is for the MB big boy 4WD
but on the GLE the CCB is $5450 I feel pretty good so far...

I ordered mine with every option except ceramic brakes and the running boards. I would have gone for ceramic brakes if it would have been all four instead of just the front. Something about only having half of them ceramic really bugs me.

I was a Brembo distributor and sold auto parts for over 40 years. To mix brake systems,,,,I'll have to see it to believe it.
And If it isn't a complete system the dealer or MB will make it complete guaranteed.
B07 AMG High-Performance Ceramic Composite Braking System $5,450

It's front only. Right off the website. E63 offers all four and it's almost 9K. Just like my .2 GT3 RS all fours were 9K as well.

I read this and it is ambiguous. Both rotors F&R are light weight which they would be if they are carbon composite.
On a new car why would MB use carbon composite on the front and sintered iron on the rear which are probably twice as heavy and will wear different than the front CC rotors. Just for a marketing gimmick. Wow

Rear ceramic brakes on a road car like a GLE is a gimmick. The thermal load is a fraction of the front brakes and they will never overheat anyway. You gain a slight reduction in unsprung mass, again irrelevant in a GLE. Racecars or pretend-racecars is a different story.

I found the mixed set also very odd. Love CCB's for the grip and for the low dust which makes me wonder that it looks with clean front wheels and dirty rears. Price is cheap either way as CCB are subsidized. The list price of each front rotor is $4500 if memory serves.
I think this is the same CCB setup on the C-Class 63 models

I didn't spec my build, the Dealer had already done that and I just came a long and was told the vehicle has CC brakes...no big deal. I see BMW,Porsche,Alfa Romeo respect the intelligence of their buyers. The money is never the issue
with cars like these. Btw the GLE is 600hp and weighs 5400 pounds CC all around wouldn't be a bad option if they were straight up and offered it...IMHO
