Vredestein Tires

Does anyone have any experience with Vredestein tires? Tire rack is giving the Pinza HT high marks compared with the Michelin Cross Climate

I had excellent results with Vredestein snow tires on a Volvo in the 1970s and 1980s before Vredestein pulled out of the US market until several years ago. I purchased Vredestein Quatrac Pros for my CLS53 based on this and they were great until I hit a major pothole on I-70 in Utah. This resulted in a bubble on the sidewall of a front tire. I replaced with Continental DWS which for me is a known product that I have used many times. Perhaps the Vredesteins are more vulnerable to this type of damage, but otherwise I believe they are an OK choice but I will choose Continental or Michelin in the future.

I have the Vredestein Quatrac Pros (latest version) and they are probably the best tires I ever owned. I can't say anything about the Pinza's but the Quatrrac's are great. I put them on my F-pace (little smaller but similar in size to the GLE) after a set of Continental DWS word out after only 15k miles. Conti's were great to start, but they simply lose their center and wet traction waaaay too quickly. The Quatrac's are the best option IMO in the wet (TR test results seem to agree) and they have the 3peak mountain snowflake for use in the white stuff. Didn't get much of a chance to really test them this year because we didn't really get much snow (Boston area), but they were great with the limited exposure.

Somehow the link I provided points to the Quatrack Pro. I do like the reviews on that tire but the treadwear rating is only 400

This is the Pinza Vredestein Pinza Its treadwear rating is 700 but looks to be very similar to the Quatrack

The Quatrac Pro appears to be a more high performance tire, so it trades some life.

I went ahead and ordered the Quatracs. Looking forward to reporting how they work out.

A 700 treadwear must be like driving on wet pavement all the time.
I'm hesitant to drive with a treadwear rating above 400, because there's a noticeable loss of traction there.
If you do go with that tire, don't get only two.

My experience with Vredesteins has been quite good, as I went through several sets on my 356's and 544's. That was several generations ago, but I'd consider them again.

I have been very impressed with my MO-1 spec Pirelli Winters, which I got from the Dealer for a little less than Tire Rack's Vredestein Quatrack Pro. .

I have come to believe that the MO-1 spec for AMG cars is darn well worth waiting for. MO also, for non-AMG.

I agree with you basic premise - my OEM Pirelli Scorpion *** are rated 500AA and find they are both good handling and relatively long lasting.

Had the Vredestein Quatrac Pros mounted today, it's like I got a new car! Only drove them 30 miles or so but the difference from the Bridgestone run flats the car came with is night and day. They're super quiet and driving on familiar roads, minor bumps in the road are now minor bumps in the road instead of the harsh jolts I felt before. I had them mounted at a local place I trust the Jaguar with and as always, they did great job. The technician commented on how little weight it took to balance these tires.
