GLE SUV vs GLE Coupe Questions

So I have about 7 months left on my GLE 350 lease and I’m considering getting a new GLE. I am really liking the coupe design and it is more unique. Being 6’4ish I do need headroom which the GLE SUV has and I am also am curious as to how the headroom compares for the driver in both.

Anyone have any insight or experience on how the coupe and suv GLEs compare? I know they don’t make a GLE coupe that’s non-AMG for the states. But I would like an idea of how different the GLE coupe is from the SUV (ride quality, size, noise, etc). For reference I am looking at the GLE 53 AMGs for both the coupe and SUV and possibly the 450 for the suv.

Well my wife who is 5'7" hit her head getting into the back seat, so the coupe was out for us. And the SUV has more space. my 2 cents.

Yeah because of the design the rear occupants won't have much headspace and the rear won't have as much storage. Thankfully I don't usually drive people around so the back seat will be empty most of the time.

I'm 6' and I bonked my head getting into the driver's seat for a demo. The seat was in a medium position.
After lowering the seat to the lowest position (my usual), I still had to duck to get in / out. More than is acceptable to me.

I actually think the SUV looks better than the Coupe. Maybe I'm still tainted by memories of the W166 Coupe....

I'm just adding my 2¢ as I’ve never extensively driven the coupe. I did even at 6’2” prefer the coupe before going with the more practical SUV. I’ve always loved the look of the coupe and from certain angles it is better looking than the SUV. Overall I think the Suv has less unappealing angles than the coupe making it better looking overall if that makes any sense.

I ended up going with the traditional SUV because I needed a family hauler and the coupe’s loss of cargo space combined with the “tighter” backseat it made less sense for my needs. The coupes still make my head turn and makes me second doubt myself but the SUV is still the better choice.

I am also 6’4”. When looking and getting in the coupe at the dealer, my wife shook her head, and stated that it’s too small for you. Saying” A munchkin would like it, but you won’t in a few weeks.” She was right. As, long drives in the GLE is quite comfortable. I take comfort over looks any day.

We are in between 2025 GLE 53s with 21" wheels vs Coupe vs 2025 GLE 63s SUV. 22" summer tires.
We just made the offer on 2024 63s SUV for 16k below msrp this evening.
if that goes through, we will get the SUV with 22" tires. For this car, we can get Nitto 420V all season tires in the future.
if not, we will go with 2025 GLE 53s for 10k below msrp.
We currently drive 2012 S550 with 75k miles on it... It has been a great vehicle from day 1 and it still is great condition.( new spark plugs with engine mount, transmission mount, two new bearing pack , belt )
It is just for my wife and myself.. But we do travel internationally which we sometimes have 3 full luggages with 2 carry on.
Does SUV drive worse than coupe? I read that coupe weights more than SUV but is still faster.
Any input would be thankful and welcome.

Far exceeding the speed limit of any country you may visit. “Does SUV drive worse than coupe” you ask. It depends upon the suspension system, tires, and engine. Frankly, both vehicles are quite comfortable. Just select the one you prefer.

I've had both and the Coupe does look good but space in the back is limited and I found issues banging my head when I got in the front seat and I am 5'8". So it ruled out the coupe for me.
