First time ever that we bought a SUV without a running boards. I did NOT like them when we had them and did not think that my wife needs and uses the running boards all time, becuase she is short. Dawn!!! I also looking for after market ones. So far, not all Ebays and Amazon retailers confirm the fit on 2024 yet. Well, let's see if she will get used without them eventually.
I had running boards on my 2018 GLE 550e. My wife insisted on getting them on my 2024 GLE. Lowering with the air suspension helps a lot with entering and exiting.
We don't have Air suspension on this new GLE. We do have it on the GLS and we do set it lower for get in and out... Love the AirMatic ride on any car or especially on SUV. Thanks
Thanks. It was the only one available on the floor last month. I did not want to wait and try to stay within my budget. AMG pkg is nice to have, but definitely would put it out of my budget. Well, there will be another one in the future.

Save up so you can get the AMG package on the next one.

The amg line package is for cosmetic purposes only maybe other than some models that tweak the suspension (harsher/stiffer) and brakes (more performance oriented) but the standard brakes are just fine and having the less harsher suspension is better on a vehicle like the GLE. I think you didn't do bad.

Correct.
Cosmetic only, no performance improvement features.

Hmmm I see, didn't know the GLE too gets the upgraded brakes treatment compared to other models like the GLC. Like I mentioned in the previous post, some models gets upgraded brakes and stiffer suspension while other models in MB's lineup just get cosmetic changes when it comes to amg line. I thought GLE was one of those models that only get cosmetic changes, will be interesting if amg line adds GLE 53 brakes, since for example W205 C 300 amg line had W205 C 43 brakes. Other than "Mercedes-Benz" lettering on the caliper, the actual hardware was the same on amg line C 300 and C 43 of the W205 gen.
The 2020 GLE AMG Line got the upgraded brakes and the 450 got the sport exhaust too. For 2021-2023, the upgraded brakes were dropped from that package but the 450 still got sport exhaust. The GLE580 still got the sport brakes (standard). For 2024, with AMG line the GLE450 no longer gets the sports exhaust, however sport brakes are back for both the GLE350 and GLE450.

Confusing decision by MB but sport exhaust is close to a GLE 53 non-performance exhaust (from the pre-facelift) or just a regular GLE exhaust but an additional of flaps?
It looks like those "sport brakes" are still fixed caliper, same size with no increase in swept area. Just the added logo, and some cast-in perforations.
Unfortunately, Mercedes photos often show a different illustration than the real car - wrong year, wrong model or photo-shopped. I never saw a correct photo of my real AMG Sport Brakes (huge diameter, 6 pot, floating caliper...) in the three months I studied before ordering my '21.
So, hard to say.

MB certainly likes to do weird things, for example, the first batch of 2022 C 300 that arrived in Canada last year of June even with amg line (we call it sport package here) it doesn't have upgraded front brakes, it has the exact same amount of pistons brakes as the rear ones, later on in the model year, some randomly have the ones that have more pistons and the "Mercedes-Benz" lettering while non sport-package still has the non-upgraded brakes, then 2023 model year it was more consistent that if you also sport package, you get the ones that says "Mercedes-Benz" in the front.
MB in general don't always include upgraded brakes on amg line vehicles (sport package) and I thought that applied to the GLE as well until a forum member that you quoted pointed it out to me. I do see that last generation C-Class they always include upgraded brakes along side the suspension differences for amg line/sport package (someone for example took it apart, the W205 C 300 amg line/sport package had the same brakes as the W205 C 43). That said, as you know the C 43 was really a C 450, and a C 400 with power increase so what MB really did was put C 400 brakes on a C 300 with amg line/sport package.
