2022 GLE450 Noise when turning car on or off
So my 2022 GLE 450 is making a loud squealing noise when the engine is turned off or on. This only happens when it’s been driven and doesn’t make the noise with a cold engine. The dealership is telling me this is not a safety issue and it’s normal. I don’t think so!! Listen to video attached and let me know please 🙏

Safety issue or not, screw the dealership, it is NOT normal, period. If it is not a safety issue, at least they should tell you EXACTLY what it is to make such conclusion. Repairing it is YOUR decision, not theirs.
If you can get someone to help you from the cabin,
1 - Open the hood, engine on
2 - Helper turns it OFF, can you pinpoint which side as @W205C43PFL suggested? Nope?
3 - Try again with something to focus on the noise. An automotive stethoscope would help, but a piece of garden hose would also help.
4 - Imagine you divide the engine section into 4 sectors: rear passenger side, front passenger side, rear driver side, front driver side
5 - Focus on a section of the engine, say start with rear passenger side with engine ON, ask for engine OFF, is the noise close by? Nothing yet, next sector. Continue until you narrow down a section.
6 - post your findings, and we try to help you further.
From this you can tell the dealer will only work with you if there enough $$$ coming. Once something fails, they will be interested .

To OP, that is clearly not a normal sound but given how we had never heard of this before, we so far have no idea what it is. Unless you could figure out which area at least that you can hear it the most, it will be hard for us to pinpoint for you. Hopefully we can figure it out for you.
Try following what forum member juanmor40 suggested and we will go from there. Another thing, not all dealerships are created equal, they are all privately owned by dealership groups so if one is not helping try another MB dealership.

OP, just checking with you. Any chance you fixed it? Hopefully it is fixed.

After having my car with the dealership service department for two weeks they finally fixed the problem and i was told it was something to do with the exhaust valve. Idk but it's not making that noise anymore so yay!!😀

Had this sound too when driven in sports+ mode but not as loud and heard it only when parked in a garage. Probably an exhaust flap (valve) openinig/closing when engine is switched on/off.

I didn't listen to the video until today.
It's the exhaust valve. I had it for a while when new, made sure I could duplicate it for my first A service. So far so good. It was intermittent. The exhaust button 'usually' made the noise.
Then I took it in. I demonstrated to the SA, but the tech Could Not Duplicate. Oh,well, I thought.
But it has never come back. Since I narrowed it to the exhaust valve, I'm not worried about further damage. 30,000 miles now.
