I placed an order for a 2024 450e, Pinnacle trim with pretty much maxed out options.
Originally the salesperson told me the car would go into production in August, then it got delayed until September/October, and now he's hoping it will be available some time in Q1 2024. I know this is out of his control, but I feel a bit misled by his initial estimates. Has anyone else experienced this with their orders?
Unless you have a purchase order number, chances are you are only on a preorder list. Understand dealers must have an allocation they can give you for your custom "order" to actually be an order. Manufacturers dole out allocations to dealers, especially for desirable models, on various criteria including dealer volume and ratings. I would ask pointedly of your CA if they have an allocation or when they expect to have one for you.
See if they can provide you with a PO#. We've had a fair amount of delays related to this car, in particular cars with the Pinnacle Trim package as some of the parts for the features are not available. Get me that if you can.

When do dealers typically know that there is a delay with their order due to parts shortage or the order needs to be/ gets modified because of it? When the order is placed? When it goes "yellow" or "red"? When production date hits? Asking for myself, mostly to set the expectations on when to follow up with the dealer on mine and check for issues if any.

Production date can be moved at any time. When an order is placed in the system Netstar will sometimes outright reject the order due to production constraints, so sometimes you know right away. Other times it will change the production decade when the order is placed to a time when the parts are scheduled to be available.
However, there are still times when the date will change after the fact and the dealer just has to keep an eye on the orders.

Not much help to you......but ordered one two days ago and 'they' showed me the beginning build date which should be the 2nd day of Jan 2024. I'm a bit antsy about this because they didn't ask for any money down. I'll check back with them once a month till then to see if the order is 'locked in'.

I believe it's not second day of Jan but second “planned” decade, 11-20 as build date locks way closer to the build in my understanding.

Twilight Blue in color. I saw this color on YouTube yesterday and it's better than I thought. The view of Twilight Blue on MB USA Build was confusing to me. Seemed lighter in color than the one I saw on YouTube. I've had two Mercedes with Lunar Blue (Lunitic Blue to me) and was disappointed that it's not offered on this car. Now after the YouTube look, I feel better about the Twilight Blue.

I can verify this is real, this image is NOT photoshopped. I saw it in person...came from the factory this way. I was told they ordered a replacement emblem, so act fast and you can be the proud owner of a European GLE 400e in the States.
Interesting. This model is in fact called 400e in other markets, so it's cool that this one got that badge. I would probably want to keep it were i buying the car.
