GLE 350de, hot compartment and turn off rear heater?

With temperatures dropping here in Sweden (-11 C) this morning it's getting noticeable hot in the mid "compartment" (the one between the seats), and I mean hot, not warm mind you.

The box between the seats is hot and there's a spot on the side of the middle console, just at my right hip while sitting in the driver seat that is really hot, I'd estimate it's about 45-50 degrees C, so almost burning.

It's also kind of annoying that the back seat heating turns on every time (I have the 4 zone system) which of course drains the battery a lot, so, questions being:

1) How do I turn off the back seat heating (vent) so it is permanently off`, and don't come on every time I get in the car?
Now I have to remember to go to the menu and turn it off every time... Which I often forget and then I loose 5-6 km of EV range...

2) I have heated/cooled cupholders (a completely idiotic thing IMO) and I guess that could be the reason why the middle "storage box" becomes so hot (and possibly that spot at my hip), so is it possible to turn of the cupholder/box heater?

Thnaks!

Regarding your center console being heated, is this when your heated seats are on? If so, it is called PANEL HEATING, and can disabled in the vehicle setting menu. Panel heating heats the door panel as well. It can be enabled/disabled independently for driver/passenger.

If you use the cooled cupholder, the cooling process creates heat that is vented into the center console. The cooled/heated cup holders can be turned off with a switch located next to the cup holder. It lights up blue for cooling, red for heating and has no light when it is off.

Default should be off for the cupholder. I used the heated mode this AM. I will try the cooled feature on the way home today and see if it warms up the center console. Shouldn't be making materials 40c+....

Oh, Hmmm.. I can't find any switch anywhere near the cup holders though. I can feel a warm breeze if I put my hand in it.
I wonder if I perhaps don't have heatef/cooled cup holders then... That, or I am blind...

No, not using the seat heater, and the spot that gets hot is only on the drivers side...

Interesting, I use my cooled cupholder settings a lot and never noticed this heat. I'll have to check it next time.

Thanks guys!

I can now relate the issue to climate control. If I turn the climate control off, there is no heated spot by the middle console, but turning it on, and setting the backseat temperature to 22 C, or higher, that spot heats up.
