Would somebody please explain the upside of dropping cash on this. I don't really understand the need. I drive the vehicle, and occasionally glance at the screen.
Our systems can connect to Android and iPhone for Android Auto and CarPlay but they do not offer fullscreen, instead it's the older version of width and not as easy for the user in terms of visibility and usability. Mercedes decided to do one programming that would fit all screens big and small. This device says it'll fix it but I've installed something similar on my last vehicle and I'm a bit hesitant on the reliability and ease of it.
If MB updated their NTG 6 systems to NTG 7 version of CarPlay, these device end up with no market when wireless is not needed. On NTG 7 (2024 GLEs), it's almost full screen, they only left one column on the left side - the one with the home button at the top, which is good as it's middle section is mostly obstructed by the steering wheel.
