maintenance and repair expense at 3 yrs
I can’t imagine that the amount of money you loose on it will ever be comparable to the delta of maintenance costs between 1-3 year and years 4-6.
I.e., cycling through leases for maintenance (or even warranty purposes, adjusted for ELW price of it makes you comfortable) is unlikely to ever be lighter on your wallet. That’s likely true for first 7/100 of the ownership.
Since “All new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are protected by our New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covering defects in material or workmanship for 48-months or 50,000 miles,” I lease my 2022 for 4 years. I have no intention of going over the 4 years or 50,000 miles by even mile or one hour. I suggest that you bring your check book and Credit cards if your vehicle is in need of repairs and have gone past the original warrenty period without a substantial extended warranty,

Example: we have a 2011 BlueTec ML with 168k on it. I think after 13 years of ownership we spent ~10k on repairs. Biggest expenses were:
Timing chain x2 (Don't even get me started on this nonsense)
AC Compressor (After 11 years)
Oil Cooler seals (Seals were cheap ~$6, but buried in the engine's V requiring R&R of the top 1/3 of the engine)
To make it worth doing leases over and over, you need to suffer some major and critical breakage (engine / transmission), for those who aren't comfortable with the risk, ELW for non-AMG GLE is like 3.5k for 7/100 (add 15% if bought after 30 days period). Keeping more than 7 years is then personal preference. Critical breakages past that mark will likely render your car a total loss as the residual will be rather low. Having the said, many people drive these cars way past 10 year mark and get lucky.
