Well 4 days into owning my 450e I got a flat. In the US so there’s no spare tire that comes with it I’ve learned. Saw in the manual that some countries do have spares. Was wondering if anyone had tried buying the necessary components aftermarket to establish a spare on their 24 GLE? Or if they just keep one around for emergencies in their garage or something if there’s no kits to install it. Thanks!
I suspect you can get the right parts from MB, but a poster on this forum once posted about this site as an easy option:

In the 450e, I don't think there is a place to store a spare tire other than in the cargo area, Your 450e should have been delivered with run flat tires 19" and 20" or a TireFit kit 21".

yea there’s nowhere to store it from what I can tell but according to the manual it says the plug in hybrid “in some countries” comes with a spare so was curious where and how it was stored wherever that is. And mine doesn’t have a tire fit kit that I can find so presume it’s run flats however it was completely flat by the time I noticed it so that was a pain since not even a jack or tire iron come to get the wheel off to patch it ourselves to make it to a shop. Kind of annoying but guess I’ll be buying a spare to keep in the garage atleast for now.Originally Posted by BlueYonder

Would a collapsible spare fit in the 450e's under storage area if you could find one that would work?

I've called them and they are very knowledgeable. They might even know about the e.

I'm in the same boat. I got the slime kit. Been looking at the spate tire options. I wonder if the MB spare you have to inflate would work. It wouldn't take up as much space in the back. I have the 20 inch AMG rims and larger calipers

My daily driver is a brand that also has no spare tire. I bought a Modern Spare and it lives in the trunk taking up space. I also had to buy a jack and then stock tools in the car... including a torque wrench! I think Modern Spare does sell an entire kit as well.
Having a spare also means I can rotate my tires at home.

you can get a collapsible spare from MB for about $1100 (yes that much I got an offer from the dealer) or go to ezspare. I bought from ezspare for around $500 and it fit under my cargo just barely. Also got a whole tool set and hope to never use any of it. Need tire hangers and everything. Quite the pain.Originally Posted by wildta

I have staggered tires so a spare won’t work. I would not have ordered it that way. But it was a CPO car. Originally Posted by GLE 63S Insane!

I guess that’s what the button in the car is for. Originally Posted by GLE 63S Insane!
