Hesitant to turn over / start
I’ve noticed that putting my foot on the brake and pressing the start button occasionally won’t start the car.
Then I’ll try again. Then I’ll turn it off, open the door, close the door and try again.
This usually works. But last night it took five tries.
Mostly it’s fine. But the reluctance is becoming both more common and now much longer.
Thoughts?

Try a fresh battery in your key.
Also, what year is your car? On older models you can remove the button and use the key directly instead. If so, try that.

Would likely need a diagnostic tool that would show realtime data to see where the problem is. Something between your button and the starter is obviously not happy if you don't get any action, sounds, or messages.
