My Hey Mercedes is Driving me Crazy
All of a sudden my Hey Mercedes in my 2024 GLE580 has a mind of it's own. No matter what's being discussed in the car or on the phone it chimes in and starts yacking. How do I make it stop?
For instance, talking about ice cream with someone over the phone, next thing Hey Mercedes is asking me if I want ice cream and what I should try. Another I was talking about software updates and Hey Mercedes goes off for 5 minutes telling me how important software updates are to the system...

Sorry about that, forgot to mention the button that does the same thing when you have voice activation turned off: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...wxyv2n46Yrmw&s

I believe there is a setting under your profile using the infotainment screen (touch your photo or avatar) that changes this behavior. I forget the name of the setting, but it is what allows you to say things like “next track” without saying “Hey Mercedes” first.

I had no idea about these direct commands and it's been enabled in my GLE. That's pretty cool! It hasn't accidentally triggered for me yet since I've owned it since March.

Ya they introduced them in the second iteration of MBUX, MUBX 2.0 or code name NTG 7.0 (My MBUX). Such software as you know already was brought to the first facelift of GLE, there are rumours of a second facelift happening for the GLE a year or so if that is true I wonder if it will get MB OS.
